50 lb. Capacity Walk Behind Drop Spreader is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for rock salt! Hello, I bought this Hot Shot 50 to do side walks, well it said you would be able to spread a variety of different salt products, even showed the different salts on the add. We had a job to do the next morning, so the night before I had assembled it and in the morning on the shop floor calibrated it. Had trouble right away with it pushing hard. It would drop the material, but the real test was on snow and ice covered walkways the drive wheel would just slide. I also had the trap door fully open. Unless the material is small pellet," which is more exspensive ",You will not be able to spread it! I don't think it is a total loss, it will be able to be used for fertilizer and grass seed. One bolt was missing for the assemble. oh well, had one of my own to complete assembly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works great EXCEPT (see below) Works great EXCEPT when the wheels are on a snow covered surface. The wheels are plastic and the "drive wheel" will just slide on the ice/snow and not turn to drive the spreader part. Wheel needs to have a rubber surface or something so it will turn and drive the spreader. The unit is built well and appears it will last many years.
