Customer Reviews

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Well built-easy to operate Just like anything, there is something I would change to make it better. The tires are pneumatic, but are cheaper looking than ones pictured in the ad. It sits very high and the center of gravity has to be maintained by the operator, my son was using it and tipped a full load of fertilizer all over the lawn. We cleaned it up the best we could but it still burned the area. It feels very sturdy and doesn't flex like the cheaper Scott's I always had. Those $60 spreaders rot out every 2-3 years and I always washed them. The mechanism for operating the flow works great, but I'd prefer a larger lever as opposed to the button in the center. I assmebled this one handed in about 30 minutes as I was recovering from shoulder surgery. My son fertilized my lawn with 30,000sq' of Agway. He's never run a spreader before and he didn't have much issues with it. All in all it's a good unit, but with a few tweaks it could be superior. June 9, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good product This was a good purchase, my spreader is well built and designed, it works very well and was easy to assemble. The item shipped quickly, it arrived in 3 days after it was ordered but was missing the actuator knob/cable assembly and spring. An email to Meyer to ask what I should do to obtain the missing parts went unanswered so after a week I called the company. The service rep I spoke to promptly sent the parts to my home where they arrived in two days. I would recommend this product to my friends. February 26, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So far, so good! This spreader was put into service almost immediately after arrival; the assembly was easy, with the exception of the handle assembly, which took some extra time. Performance with ice melt products was far superior to any lawn-grade spreader, and the large knobby tires didn't slip on the smoothest ice. Capacity is as advertised, and even took an extra 10 lbs. of material when necessary. Advisable to keep clean and lubricate often for best performance; axle bushings tend to move out of place (sideways) if not monitored and/or adjusted, but this was only a minor problem. Some jamming of hopper door occurs with sand/gravel/salt materials, but again a minor problem overall. After five storms, it is still performing well, and should out last several lawn-style spreaders in the future, plus there is the added bonus of being able to purchase replacement parts direct from the manufacturer if necessary. A great purchase for our needs. January 20, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by thus far, the spreader has performed extremely well. The assembly was minimal, instructions very easy to follow. A very well built medium to heavy duty spreader. We are in a hilly area of the Ohio snow belt. Means we see more than normal snow and ice. Working the machine and down hilly drives is so much easier with the larger tires. No slipping or sliding! The spread pattern takes getting used to though. Depending on material you really don't need to use the higher spread settings. I'm finding mid range works very nicely with the shield off. You can almost cover an 8 foot path in one pass. December 24, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Safety for our Employees The spreader will be used for spreading Ice Melt during icy conditions. Thought it has not been used at this time, I believe it will serve our needs. It will be used on sidewalks in in the parking lot. It was easy to assemble. November 4, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by It's a nice spreader, BUT Went to put the spreader together, But it was missing the handle. Called Myers to get it shipped faster instead of going thru Home Depot to get the handle sooner. Wanted a product made in America. Rated it low because of missing part. Got the part 4 days later, put the rest of the spreader together and works great! December 24, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Well made spreader, This spreader seems to be very well made and is made by a company experienced in making products to handle snow and ice. It was easy to assemble and all parts fit well. I haven't actually used it yet but I anticipate no problems with it. December 10, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by saves time and money was fairly easy to put together, uses half the salt vs my old scotts, shield keeps salt where i want it, made well, two passes and i'm done. pricey ....but worth it. February 26, 2013
