Customer Reviews

22 Channel Emergency Crank Radio with 2-Way Radio (1-Pack) is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Little Radio I read a lot of reviews and looked at a lot of videos on this radio before buying it. With that said I decided that the specific things on the radio that in interested in the most were good. Most of the reviews were accurate and some were more defects or line power issues in my opinion. so here is a list of things about this radio I have learned. 1 the FM radio does not come in that great but it does work. this could be due to the antenna being tuned for GMRS not for FM radio. 2 the AM works good. 3 when the power cord is plugged into the wall and you have the GMRS radio on, my unit does not hum or buzz like some people say. This could be a ground issue in the house itself. not the unit. 3 the flashlight is very good and bright. 4 the microphone that comes with it is very good quality and works well but you will find when you put it on a shelf or a table to use as a base camp, the mic hangs on the back of the radio and is not easily accessible. The sound will only go through the mic when it is plugged, so unless you hang the mic somewhere in the front or lay it on the table, the sound will be coming from the back through the mic. if your in a quiet room there won't be a problem. the sound from the mic is just not as loud as the speaker on the base camp. I use the mic because it is just plain cool and makes the base camp feel like a base radio. 5 the range is very good on this radio, better than most bubble pack radios, the antenna is 3" long and most portables are 2" I have read that 6" is optimal for GMRS to get good range. It is very possible to change the antenna on this unit to give you even more range but your not suppose to. 6 weather radio comes in loud and clear. 7 dynamo crank works but it will give you a serious work out if you want to charge the unit for an hour. All in all this is a great radio, especially the GMRS side of it. you most likely won't be disappointed at the unit. the price was right also.
