Weather Alert Radio with Alarm Clock

Frequently Bought Together

Product Overview

The WR-120EZ features Specific Area Message Encoding (SAME) reception. SAME allows users to program the radio to sound an alert only when weather and other emergencies threaten a selected county or counties. The technology eliminates all alerts from other areas, so users won't have to perk up their ears each time the alert sounds only to find the emergency is actually 100 miles up the highway. Additional features include a clock with an alarm and a snooze button, an emergency power backup that keeps your radio working during power outages or outdoor use, and external antenna and alert jacks. The WR-120EZ, which works with three AA batteries (not included), is backed by a one-year warranty, and is the 2011 replacement for the popular WR-100.

  • S.A.M.E. localized reception
  • 25 Programmable Counties
  • Color coded alert indicators
  • Alert Override automatically switches over to warn you of impending danger

Answer:
This radio is not subject to FCC regulation. It does not have alarms for civil unrest. It does feature broadcasts that are not available on normal radio networks. This particular product uses batteries as backup when electricity is not available.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Peace of Mind! Great little product! Good value and it certainly gives us peace of mind to be able to sleep at night and have something to alert us to any potential bad weather. Would certainly recommend! June 19, 2013
