Product Overview

The Mighty Mato grafted tomato plant is a much heartier, much more vigorous tomato plant that yields two to three times more tomatoes than the average tomato plant. Normal plants cannot compare to the power that is inherent in grafted plants. Their root systems have been supercharged to help them defend against pests, diseases, temperature extremes, poor soils, and other environmental stresses. All Mighty Mato packages come with three grafted tomato plants and are shipped in specially designed three-pack containers that are rugged and will securely protect your plants during shipment. The Big Beef is an excellent all-around tomato variety developed for home gardening. It produces extra-large fruit and has a real home grown flavor with just the right balance of sugar and acid making it one of the most popular varieties of home grown tomatoes.

  • Grafted plants are plant varieties that are actually grafted or attached to a much more vigorous or wild root system
  • Wild root systems provide increased disease resistance
  • Have a greater tolerance to environmental stresses of extreme temperatures or poor soils
  • Provide a much more abundant harvest over a longer period of time
  • Have an increased resistance to soil-borne nematodes
  • Very hearty so even novice growers can harvest tomatoes successfully
  • Have an extended growing season
  • Pack contains 3 each, 6 inch plants guaranteed to arrive healthy and ready to plant

Rated 3.5 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Mighty 'Mato - Superior Tomatoes I was skeptical at first, but for the past two years I've grown many Mighty 'Mato in my home garden and compared them to their same age non-grafted counterparts. The grafted tomatoes continuously offer longer and bigger harvests. I've followed the directions on the tags, plus used their website to brush up on my water and fertilization skills. I even grew a gorgeous Mighty 'Mato in a whiskey barrel this past year. One tip I learned last year was to lightly shake the heirlooms which tend to be a little trickier to get to pollinate (this doesn't have to do with grafting). If you shake them lightly every day or two, it really helps with yields. Get ready for LOADS of tomatoes. My favorite flavors are Carmello, Copia and Chocolate Stripes... and I also was able to try Blush Tiger last year, this large plum is DELICIOUS. April 18, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Tomato Plant I've Ever Bought!! I was beyond excited when I saw that Home Depot started offering grafted tomato plants! I have heard AMAZING things about grafted plants - they produce bigger, juicier fruits and are able to withstand harsher weather conditions. I am not a super experienced gardener and this is only my second season planting vegetable plants so I was a bit nervous about purchasing this product online. When I received the package in the mail I was extremely impressed with the packaging! The box was colorful and catchy and the plants were safely nestled inside and in perfect condition!! I canot wait to see the yield that this Mighty 'Mato plant produces! This whole process was SO easy and efficient and I cannot wait to see what other products this company comes up with! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Arrived well packaged The jury is still out since the plants haven't been in long enough to know if they are all they are suppose to be. The plants came well packaged and safe just a little dry. May 17, 2012
