Will a riding mower activate the vehicle sensor?

We just purchased the MM FM500 gate opener (not installed yet), and I am looking at accessories for it. My lawn maintenance crew comes 2 to 3 times a month, if they enter the 12' zone with a riding lawn mower, will it activate the gate to open? I have 3 dogs that run loose in the yard, so gate must remain closed unless entering or exiting, and would hate to see it opening and closing with each pass of the mower.

Answer:
Hello Enygma,
Depending on how large the riding mower is, the wired vehicle sensor could be activated. To ensure the gate is not opened by a riding mower, I would recommended using digital keypads (model #'s MMKPD or FM137-PED) for entry and exiting of your property. This would enable you to give a specific entry and exit code to your lawn maintenance crew. Thank you,

BigW,
Thank you for posting your question. When using a vehicle exiting sensor, the gate will stay open for as long as you have the auto close time function set to. The auto close time can be adjusted from 3 to 120 seconds. If another car approaches the gate opening sensor while the gate opener is attempting to close, the gate would simply open back up. If a car leaves your property and 10 seconds later Read More

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by good product The gate opener serves it purpose to keep people out and to control who comes on our property. The gate is very slow to open and slow to close, which sometimes allows our dogs to get out. Wish we could change the timing to get it to close faster. Overall, a great product. We would purchase it again May 20, 2014
