Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Farmguy Great gate opener
This is the second Mighty Mule gate opener I have installed. Very easy read instructions and it's a snap. Home Depot price is the lowest package deal price I could find. My wife loves that when she pulls up to our gate she just pushes the button and gate opens. Mine is installed on a 16ft gate. Handles it no problem.

My wife loves not having to get out of the car when by herself, and my 10 year old son (who used to be the automatic gate opener) gives it an "excellent" rating!
It took me a few hours to install but I'm slow. We have been using it for months and it is fantastic. It is pretty slow but the trick is to push the button far enough away that you don't have to wait too long. Our cars have the programmable button in the visor or overhead console which means we don't have to use the supplied clickers which we gave to one of our daughters, keep one by the front porch, and one by the back porch for when we go out to get the mail.
The push button works from the house which is about 75 yards from the gate so if a guest arrives or we forgot to close it at night when we go to bed we can activate it from the house!
We got the kit with wireless keypad which works great, and 3 remotes. No complaints yet!

This is our second mighty mule product. Since we've been very happy with the driveway alarm, we were not hesitant about purchasing another product.
Installation was made pretty easy by having written instructions and the DVD.
It does take two people and a little time but well worth it.
We installed a 12' chain link gate and it opens smoothly without any strain whatsoever. No more getting in and out of the vehicle to open the gate for us.
We also feel much more secure.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Engineer Leaks, shorts, falls apart, poor engineering
I'm a design engineer with 30 years experience designing equipment much more complex than this gadget. I've had this unit 3 years, and when it rains, it eventually fills with water and shorts out. Entry for wires allows bugs to enter and build nests. Full open limit switch inside is a micro-switch soldered to a circuit board for mounting to the case, and has a small lever that tends to pops off when the shaft contacts the limit. I've fixed it for the last time - switch housing is now ruined from the lever popping off too many times. Shoddy/cheap engineering/design. Otherwise, worked fine during dry weather for about a month at a time until limit would break. Then tear apart to fix it. Can say that main circuit board still works great even though it is heavily corroded from water leakage and condensation. Just use a soft bristle brush to clean it and make sure no corrosion bridges across contacts. All in all, will never buy another one of these units. Might be an ok buy in Arizona, New Mexico, or other extremely dry locales.

I'm pleased with this gate opener. It is simple to install by anyone with some mechanical and light construction skills. Keep in mind that this opener will require the addition of a battery and a weatherproof box to put the battery in.

We are very happy with the performance of the Mighty Mule Gate Opener. It was easy to install with no real issues. The only regret is that we didn't purchase and install this gate opener earlier.

We purchased several Mighty Mule products with the FM350 combo being one of them. Everything was as advertised and was received promptly.
