Cork flooring combines the beauty of a natural and truly renewable material with the comfort of a cushioned, warm and silent surface. It is highly sustainable since the cork oak trees are not cut. Only the outer bark is harvested, and it will grow again each 9 years. The new narrow and beveled plank format creates a more appealing and elegant look than traditional cork floors that are made in large panels. Cork flooring is warm underfoot, comfortable and soft to walk on, anti-microbial, fire and moisture resistant and provides unrivalled noise reduction properties. Installation is made easy with the precision milled glueless locking system. This floor features an integrated underlayment made out of cork. Easy maintenance: simply vacuum. Prefinished cork requires no additional sealing after installation. Warm to the touch and resilient, cork floors are a great addition to your home. Ideal for all levels of installation. This floor qualifies for 4 LEED points: (1) EQ4.3 (Indoor Environmental Quality)-Low Emitting, (2) MR4.1 (Materials & Resources)-Recycled Content, (3) MR 6-Rapidly Renewable Materials, (4) ID 1-Innovation in Design.

Answer:
Yes, freestanding appliances and furniture are fine to place on a floating floor. Permanent fixtures, such as cabinetry, must be installed first and then have the flooring laid around.

Do you re-coat the cork flooring after installation and periodically after that. What do you recommend and how often? Are glue down cork products more tolerant of wear and tear?

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.3 out of 5 by 8 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor Quality Purchsed this flooring and installed really looked great. we had put flooring paper down to protect while work was being done we used blue painters tape when we wnet to remove the tape it has pulled the finish (picture) off the flooring. We also drop a book on the floor and it put a big dent in the flooring. Alos do not let your wife wear her high heels as they leave small indents Real poor I am not sure where you would use this stuff since it can not handle normal use. February 12, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by buy 1/3 more than you need we had this professionally installed; contractor tells me many boards rejected because they either had dinged up/broken edges on the tongue and groove and corners or the pieces were not the same depth. we have a whole box of waste on this tiny bathroom floor, really glad I over ordered. January 3, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cheap Product I had previously installed cork flooring bought from another vendor. I was quite happy with my purchase. This was not the case with the Milford product. I found it to be cheaply made and flimsy. I plan to return to Home Depot at my earliest convenience. August 13, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by very nice product We installed this product in our basement and it fit our needs perfect. The look and feel is better than the laminate options. Installation is easy and straightforward. May 28, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful floor We recently had 55 square feet of cork flooring layed over our old tile, in our kitchen, dining room and family room. It brings a new demension to our condo that looks warm and rich! We couldn't be happier. Easy to install, and easy to care for. November 25, 2012
