I am interested in this product and notice the description says it comes in various lengths. One reviewer said the majority of pieces are very short., second reviewer said many are around 18 inches. Can you tell me what the size range is, and should I expect mostly short pieces? Thank you.

Answer:
This floor has to be laid using various lengths which is why it is such a nice floor .When laying it down keep all end joints staggered as much as possible and it will look beautiful. This is not an easy floor to install but it is one of the best. You may want to hire a carpenter or good floor layer.Read instructions carefully

Hello Jim and thank you for your question.
Jim flooring itself will be fine with no heat ,however you may not be pleased with joint spacing due to higher contraction of the material in cold ambient.
Hope this helps.

Answer:
Water maintenance isn't recommended. Other than regular sweeping/vacuuming, a no-wax hardwood floor cleaner should be used. We recommend Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner.

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 13 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Hardwood Flooring An excellent product that looks great!!! Only qualms I have about this product was the staining on the ends that need to be touched up prior to installing. This was quickly solved by using a stain marker. February 15, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by beautiful, but big let down from company PROS: The flooring was easy to assemble (my husband and i were first-timers working with my dad who had laid once) and once finished beautiful! Love the hand-scraped finish. CONS: (1) Many boxes were not much of an "assortment"; some were nothing but long boards and MANY were a lot of short pieces; we bought 400sqft and only needed 350 but ended up having to buy TWO more boxes due to length assortment. (2) LOTS of pieces had problems; some were bowed and would not fit flat causing gaps that could not be hammered out therefore wasted, and many had the tongue's torn/cracked etc causing them to not fit into the grooves---we wasted probably an entire box due to this! Was very upset about it but it ended up looking great so oh well.... May 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love the distressed look and wide plank! Absolutely stunning! First time to lay hardwood.....would call myself a handyman. Read about laying floors. I had 5 great boxes. Worked out of several at a time. Some had longer pieces than others but was able to lay a beautiful floor. Hope to use this product again. Used 2" staples, cut easily, was able to work around two pieces that were warped. No complaints. Hope to use this product in another room soon March 14, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This floor makes my diningroom look like a magazine cover Everyone who see this floor loves it. Rich and beautiful and cleans up beautifully. December 15, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not a good flooring product We were very unhappy with this flooring product. Our installer who has many year of experience installing hardwood flooring said "it is the worst product I have ever installed." The cuts were not straight which made it impossible to install without having significant gaps between boards. The stain did not cover deep enough, so unfinished wood was showing and we bought stain to fix it. A large percentage of the pieces in the box were very short in length instead a good assortment of lengths. This is not a product we would recommend, and unfortunately we spent close to $5,000 on a product that was definitely not worth that price. July 13, 2010
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very hard to clean This floor is very hard to clean. I have used several different products and they all leave a film. Therefore when you walk on the floor after its dry you see your foot prints. Which drives me crazy. I have small children and clean the floor daily. Was looking for a easy floor to maintain. Not this one. December 9, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Pleased While I have installed flooring professionally in the past, I installed this product in my home. It is the first time I have used Millstead. I am still trying to decide if I like the "handscrape look" (my wife loves it). However, the quality of the product is excellent. Very easy to install with minimal waste. Nice tongue and groove fit. I would highly recommend this product and would buy it again. Also, I had a problem with the shipping and Home Depot quickly resolved. October 16, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not a lock and click but best quality This floor is not for the do it you're selfer,I have been a carpenter for over 35 yrs. and it is not a lock and click floor like a pergo type. It is harder to install but does not compare. If you want a top of the line ,last forever floor this is it. hire someone to install it.I have dogs and this floor has been down for several yrs. and is bullet proof. Will be doing another part of my house very soon with the same. Not cheap but you get what you pay for February 10, 2013
