Product Overview

This durable prefinished engineered click real maple floor is easy to install. Simply engage the long sides at an angle and press down. The flooring is crafted of five layers of solid wood permanently bonded together in a cross-ply design. No HDF or other fiber boards are utilized. The stability of this construction provides superior strength, humidity resistance and installation options (glue-less, floating or glue down). The aluminum oxide finish provides 10 times more abrasion resistance than ordinary urethane finishes. Our company has been manufacturing wood floors to exacting standards in Johnson City, Tenn., for over 110 years.

Customer Questions & Answers

What is the wear layer thickness (e.g. 3 mm, 5 mm) of this flooring?

I have read online that the wear layer must be at least 3/32 of an inch (approx. 3 mm?) to be refinished (at least once). I am trying to determine if this flooring can be refinished.
Asked by: HandyMom
Appx. 3/32". Edges are eased so there is no chipping, also it is not a high gloss finish so it is more casual looking overall.

Is this product photosensitive? What about the solid hardwood version? (I assume it's the same for both, but just want to confirm.)

Asked by: HandyMom
Maple is a wood that darkens with age when left on it's own, most finishes prevent significant changes (light or dark).

Do these floors scratch easy with kids and a small dog? Also, are the click floors as shiny as in the picture?

Asked by: Chia
All wood floors will scratch and dent. Care should be taken to keep pet nails trimmed and consider using rugs/runners in their most highly trafficked areas. A sample of the flooring can be obtained by contacting Customer Service at 888-875-5087.

Customer Reviews

Maple Cacao 3/8 in. Thick x 4-3/4 in. Wide x Random Length Engineered Click Real Hardwood Flooring (33 sq. ft. / case) is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from A pretty good match for the original heart pine floors in my 1900 home. Very nice looking, and seem to be great quality, though only time will tell. I cannot comment on long-term wear, warping, etc., but the initial quality is very good. Very hard surface, nice appearance and variability in color/markings, and variety of board lengths (mostly long). Installation definitely take a little care. Make sure you tap the edge while pushing down to get the boards fully attached and eliminate any buckling. Definitely not an easy 'click lock' like some other floors, but seems to hold together very well once attached.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good floor but keep in mind... We put down appx 500 sq ft of this a couple months ago. It has a good appearance, not a lot of variation if you like grain (it is Maple after all). Something to keep in mind as you work the pieces into place, the pieces fit tightly, work them up & down to get them to settle in. Don't tap the pieces into each other end to end or the floor will make crackling noises when you walk on it, over time fine dust must work into the joints and help with this. All quiet now, we'll wait to see what winter brings. Best on very flat surfaces!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this floor! We originally installed this flooring in our oldest son's room before he was born and we loved it so much we decided to put it in the rest of our house. The installation is very easy and the quality is great and very durable!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Floor I am very pleased with the look of this product and will try to remember to post a photo. Only concern is it splintered easily when cutting. This was my first install of a floor and it went well but slow. 1. You will definitely want to have a table saw. 2. Also - I found it very important to string a line for accurate straight line and to screw down my starter row for a secure baseline. Pull the screws later. 3. Pound with a block. This product does not just pop together like legos. Lots of backbone involved. Be sure to lock and close gaps with hammer against a 2x2 or 2x4 block.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from once you figure it out its not to hard to put down, you do need knee pads and the tool kit, i got a few miss cut boards, but as i went along i figured out how to use them, plus the starter boards are in the bottom of the box which wasn,t in the directions that they were there.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Difficult to install. Very difficult to install, boards did not snap together very well. Felt like each piece had to be forced. Ended up with gaps in places. Our cork and bamboo installations went much smoother.
