Answer:
This product can be floated by gluing the joints with a tongue and groove adhesive. Floating floors can be installed over any flat, structurally sound subfloor, including particle board.

Answer:
There is not, nor has there ever been, a recall on any Millstead floors. A "recall" notice at the register occurs when the associate inadvertently enters the wrong SKU number on special order products.

PF9586 Repair

This question is from Maple Natural 1/2 in. Thick x 3 in. Wide x Random Length Engineered Hardwood Flooring (24 sq. ft. / case)

Hallo there!

We had the floor installed by Home Depot last year. We now have a few relatively superficial scratches (please see photo 1). Would you please tell me how we should repair them? If it's only the surface protection, can we simply resurface? If so, what protective substance/manufacturer can you recommend?

Also, we have damage due to a small, but heavy, object falling on the floor (please see photo 2). Is it possible to repair damage of this depth? If so, would you please tell me how?

Thank you very much!

Bill

Answer:
Scratches can be recoated with polyurethane to reduce the visibility of the scratch; it would be best to take a sample of your flooring to compare to store urethane samples to match the closest gloss level.
You can repair small chips or gouges with a matching-colored wood putty, but the damage seen here will probably require replacement of the damaged board.

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1 reviewer.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good flooring Flooring went pretty well, a bit messy with the glue down application, but after 20 rows or so I got it figured out. Make sure to clean the glue off as you go or it will be heck later. I don't usually put down this type of flooring but, it was for family. The product seemed to be of good quality with few bad boards, the only issue I had was with the random length of the boards. I had to many that were 4 feet long and not enough shorter starting boards. The floor came out well and my in - laws were happy(yes I said that). April 12, 2014
