Product Overview

This durable prefinished solid real oak floor is made of 3/4 in. thick sawn solid wood and features mother nature’s naturally occurring beauty marks such as distinctive color variation, knots and mineral streaks. Plank length is totally random and varies based upon the yield of each tree. The aluminum oxide finish provides 10 times more abrasion resistance than ordinary urethane finishes. Our flooring is proudly crafted in the U.S.A. from wood grown and responsibly harvested in the U.S.A. Our company has been manufacturing wood floors to exacting standards in Johnson City, Tenn., for over 110 years.

Answer:
Random lengths are between 12" and 72", and each box contains what I think are average numbers of each...so there are maybe 2-4 long boards, and the majority are 2'-4' long. It's not difficult to stagger the end lengths if you plan ahead a bit, and is always a good idea to have a couple boxes open all the time to ensure you keep things pretty random.

I think yes, it is very much a deep red / wine color...and it was difficult for us to find this color to match existing flooring. The photo is against a cherry bed frame. Read Less

Answer:
Board lengths may vary between 11 3/4" and 78", however, there is no set ratio per carton. Floors should be installed from multiple cartons at a time to allow random placement of the varied lengths. This floors color would be best described as a "burgundy".

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very happy with the results! Installed 300 sf of this flooring for a wheelchair bound customer, replacing her Berber carpet. Install went well and was a very close match to her existing flooring (which drove our choice). I was surprised by the lack of waste! Of the 20+ cartons, we only tossed two boards. There was some variation in dimensions, but no more than other brands we've installed. Cartons arrived in great shape, no issues there at all. July 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Looks great, SAVES TIME. The appearance matches the images of the product, the quality of the millwork is close to perfect and the installation is easy. The only "problem" I encountered was one regarding the millwork, some of the pieces T&G were not exactly the same and the ends of the boards would be a hair above or below the next one. When I say a hair, I mean like 1/64 of an inch. If these had been unfinished boards, it wouldn't have mattered because the sanding process would have evened them out. A quick fix was to use a Minwax Red Oak stain marker and a paper towel, mark the edges and wipe off the excess. Regarding the lengths of the boards, I found it best to layout a couple of rows at a time using a 4" minimum overlap. I was able to come right in at the estimated 10% left over mark. April 22, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice color and finish, but too many short boards I just finished intalling this wood in an upstairs hallway. Pros: The color and finish are beautiful. The t&g went together easily and installation was not hard. Cons: I ordered 10% extra as recommended and it was just barely enough due to damaged boards. In the 6 boxes I got there was a total of 5 long boards. The majority of pieces were under 5 feet, most were 2-3 feet. The wood was shipped in flimsy cardboard boxes that didn't hold up well during the shipping process. There was no padding or protection and the wood was able to slide around and get banged up, especially the end pieces. March 16, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great looking but showing signs of wear after a little over a year Easy to install with a floor nailer. I did almost 2,000 square feet in my house. Some long boards but mostly shorter ones. I only really have 1 or 2 full boxes of bad boards from probably over 40 boxes. Finish is not holding up to my dogs after a little over a year. I may have to replace some boards in high traffic areas. January 13, 2015
