I purchased 43 boxes of this to finish my entire home. The contractor says that not every piece of wood is the same length. The description says 49" but there are some from as short as 40" to 46". Means Im short quite a bit per box if more than half of them are a few inches shorter than specified.

Answer:
The product description is "3/8 in. thick x 4 3/4 in. wide x Random Length". The specifications list 49" as the carton size. All Millstead Wood products are random length products, and may contain boards between 11 3/4" and 46 1/4". The box size allows for more than the 22.5 square feet advertised to offset shorter pieces.

No Way....see my review. damp rag on your hands and knees with immediate drying okay. I use a very rung out mop (professional Rubbermaid mop bucket) so that it is just damp. And dry it as I go with a towel. ... I dry mop frequently, ban shoes and mop once in a month.

Answer:
No, water maintenance (including damp mopping or steam cleaning) is not recommended for hardwood floors. We recommend the use of Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner, along with regular sweeping or vacuuming. You can see the full care sheet here: http://goo.gl/id6oE

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 11 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A great floor We installed this floor 3 years ago in our house excluding bedrooms. It has worn well. We have a large dog and the floor has not shown signs of her leaving scratches. We just installed the floor in our master bedroom. Our installer said it was easy to install. He did the job in 3 hours! The floor has many different colors and random lengths. So it is easy to add to an existing floor. We are very pleased. April 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Outstanding Product Looks great, went down easy, fits together well. Thanks. September 24, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by looks nice but easily dented We bought this floor to match floor we had. It looks very nice but it does scratch and dent with ease. We love the look of it and since our lighting is forgiving -the dents and scratches are not as noticeable. January 26, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great clic floor Great floor easy to install but make sure your floors are even flat to avoid any cracking when walking or buy the 1/2 inch otherwise we all love the look and this natural maple floor brightens all our rooms. January 6, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by very soft - ignore the janko rating I installed this over 3/4 vertical grain doug fir with a 5mm birch hardwood plywood underlayment on top of that (disregard the fastener schedule on the try-ply, it is excessive- I did 6/12 or 6/6). I noticed that it can be glued down with modifications (rip the locking tongue off in table saw ) at the milstead website. I used a water vapor resistant urethane adhesive (eco980) and the try-ply to get superior soundproofing and water vapor resistance from a poorly built ( no proper vapor barrier) existing garage below the install. I also achieved a very solid floor ( 1-1/8+ of wood with a elastomeric layer) and excellent vapor resistance, but not vapor proof to allow trapped vapor to migrate. This all was a success. However: the product review- The product looks like what it is, plywood. Some pieces are rather attractive (20-30%) with nice burl like grain and blotch. 50% look like slices of plywood and 5% have knots. Well as a professional I should have known better, I over looked this likely hood based on store displays and samples. So far you could say everything Is as expected. Depot claims product hardness. The product dents quite easily. It does not scratch per say. But it sure does dent when things like a light weight plastic mouse with curved edges drop on it. My fault again. But beware it dents easily. The finish is often thin in spots, not sealing the wood. Inspect your boards. One or two in a case with have rough, poorly finished/sealed spots. I did not notice this when installing. Discard the boards and return as defective. ...I hated buying another $200 worth of this stuff to finish my project (staircase & entry ). But to the non professional it looks nice and matches the interior. $2.68/foot locally Do not attempt to glue this : Click is rather hard to install if your boards are not straight, or you forget the directions or disregard having leveled and straighten your subfloor. As a professional Level 1 general carpenter I can act fast with tricks to resolve issues gluing it down. Tricks, ideas, background and expectations a novice will not know. for the Pro: do not get glue in or on the locking ends and remaining T&G. You will never get the boards together tightly and level, even glue residue will hang you up. Scrape it clean or toss the board and clean it later for reuse with a utility knife or oscillating tool and scraper blade. (love my oscillating Porter Cable) February 21, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by A Crackling nightmare - It all needs to be tore out! The Millstead click-lock flooring installed in our home is complete garbage and all needs to be tore out. An inspector from the installation company has also verified this stuff has major problems. When walking floor, even very lightly with stocking feet, it creates this loud crackling sound. Check out my YouTube video called 'A Crackling Nightmare' September 19, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by you get what you pay for inexpensive for real wood, easy to install, looks good but does not stand up well -soft backing. May 6, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great flooring system! This flooring looks great and snaps together easily. I wasn’t sure about a floating floor system, but it looks really great and I didn’t have any trouble with the installation. It has a great warranty and it can also be refinished. I plan to continue with this product into other bedrooms. September 7, 2011
