I use bi-metal hole saws to cut holes in military ammo cans. The Shockwave Thin Wall Hole Saw works really well for this. It says that you can use an impact driver, but I found the best results using a regular drill/driver. Of course, if you are drilling a wiring panel that will be covered with dry wall, it does not matter much. Just use whatever drill or driver you have handy. But, in my case looks makes a difference, as I will sell these. You can see from the pictures below that using the impact driver left a slightly irregular hole when the impact kicked in. This is not present using the drill/driver. Remember, I used it on a military ammo can, so if you are drilling a circuit panel, I am sure the metal will cut really easy!
This is a quality hole saw! It is much better than some other one you may use! The money you pay for this will save you money in the long run.

I like this hole saw. Why!?:
Has a shoulder which prevents moving saw deeper than the blade itself. So, you don't have to exert as much effort into stopping the saw, once it breaks through.
The ejection feature is nice, but not perfect. Still definitely aids is removing blanks from the tool.
Note, this would not be a good choice for boring holes at an angle, say, for joining tubing at an angle. This tools shoulder is designed to stop plunging.
Cutting perpendicular through panels of a max thickness/depth is what this is designed to do. It does it really well. I recommend it. You can drill pipe as well, since you can angle this as you are cutting the one side and then the other to finish the circle cut. Good tool, but doesn't replace your regular hole saw for deeper bores.

Only had to use it once but it did the job quickly and the edges were clean. Not sure about the long-term use since there has only been one application so far.

The wall hole saw is a very useful tool. It attaches easily to the drill and does a great job of creating the holes needed for the closet door knobs. It is quick and efficient. I do recommend.
