The Milwaukee 5380-21 is a powerful 9-amp, 1/2 in. Hammer Drill that features dual speed ranges (0-1,500 and 0-3,500 RPM) for better operator control, regardless of your materials or accessories. There’s a percussion drilling mode for masonry and a rotary drilling mode that accommodates a variety of bits for holes in wood, metal and plastic. Its high speed and compact size make it ideal for setting fasteners in concrete and drilling small holes for anchors. Yet its heavy-duty metal gear case, self-stopping brushes, and ball and roller bearing construction make it tough enough to handle the most grueling jobsite applications. The Anti-Vibration System (AVS) and ergonomic handle reduce user fatigue and increase comfort and control. The dual-speed hammer drill comes equipped with a removable side handle, depth gauge and impact-resistant carrying case.

  • Powerful 9.0-amp motor: Delivers 0-1,500 RPM/0-24,000 BPM and 0-3,500 RPM/0-56,000 BPM
  • Anti-Vibration System (AVS): Delivers maximum comfort by minimizing vibration
  • 2-Mode operation: Hammer drill/drill for maximum versatility in wood, metal and concrete
  • 2-Speed gear box: Select the correct drilling speed for the material and accessory
  • Lightweight design for easy handling
  • 360 degree locking side handle with depth gauge: Permits maximum maneuverability and control
  • Soft grip for comfortable operation
  • Self-stopping brushes: Protects the motor and increases the life of the tool
  • 12 ft. cord provides slack while working
  • Metal gear box for durability
  • Includes: (1) 5376-20 1/2 in. Hammer Drill, (1) Carrying Case, (1) Chuck Key, (1) Side Handle

Rated 1 out of 5 by Very disappointing I bought one of these and when I got it home I found that I couldn’t change the gear box from low to high. I literally didn’t use it once. I brought it back to Home Depot and exchanged it for another one thinking that the bad one that I had was just some kind of fluke. Using the new one that I had just gotten, I started drilling a hole in concrete for an anchor and found myself tightening up the chuck two more times before I got the hole finished. And this was with a bit that had anti-slip tabs on the shank. The same thing happened on the next hole, and the third hole. The chuck refused to hold the bit tight. After finishing the third hole, I then found that I was not able to change the gear box again just like the first unit that I had. So I returned it to Home Depot also. I certainly didn’t try another Milwaukee. I have very little experience with Milwaukee. I thought they were supposed to have such a good reputation. Apparently I was wrong as these are made in China and the quality shows it. I doubt that I’ll be buying any more Milwaukee products. August 9, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Do Not Buy The complaints you read are well founded. Problems with Chuck not holding bit loosening up and switches hard to turn , excessive vibration and after drilling three holes screw in center of chuck fell out. Screw did not hold when tried to tighten ! Read the reviews too many people saying same story with problem.A perfect nightmare !! Have a great deal of Milwaukee tools but they are cheapening their quality and suprised they have not pulled this off the market. I read the reviews with the Bosch and much different story. I returned it and bought a Bosch 1 inch SDS Plus Hammer Drill Bulldog Extreme and WOW holes drilled like a knife in butter little effort drilled 48 1 5/8 holes on 25 year old cement. The drill did all the work and loved it. Bit is still sharp never heated up and would recommend this to all. November 19, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Good drill for medium duty, non for continuous use. November 8, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Don't drill concrete without it. I had to drill into some very old highly cured concrete. 18 volt cordless and standard 3/8" corded drill didn't make a dent. It took me less than 15 minutes to drill 20 plus holes. September 27, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Hammer drill After renting one several times I decided to purchase this model. I couldn't be happier this drill went thru concrete like a hot knife in butter. It literally took me less time to drill 4 holes compared to the rental drill use ing the same bit. July 15, 2014
