Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by tlc648 A very good produce at a price I could afford. 5 year warrenty is a plus
I have been looking for a router table since they are suspose to increase the efficency of a router and ease of projects. I could buy one anywhere from $100 to $500 or more, but each one did not have a feature I wanted. Plus, for the price I could build one and use the money to buy a router just for my new router table. As you can see from the photos, I custom built my router table. It may not be fancy, but it has the features I wanted. I already had a Porter Cable router which is very good and came from Home Depot too, but every time I needed to adjust the debth, I have to disassemble it from the router table, adjust it, and re-assemble it. Kind of a pain in the neck if you know what I mean. I started looking for another router. While searching on line, I found this Milwaukee router at Home depot and it had three features I really liked: one was the brand name, two, I could micro adjust the router without having to disassemble it from the table, and third the price was in my budget. Only thing I did fuss about was it did not have a carrying case come with it. No big deal, I custom built my own (see left of photo) to meet my needs. My first project was a chess board for my grandson. My router and router talble made the job pretty easy. Happy with my purchase and what I can do with it. Good product, good price, and best warranty around. Milwaukee does a good job backing up their products.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sawtoothspanky Nice Router
I ordered this Router for two reasons. One. It's a Milwaukee. Two. It's listed as being variable speed. It isn't varible speed. I had to send it back. Now I'm going to have to wait for my credit return before I can order the right one. I'm obviously going to order the 5616-20. For $30 more. It's variable speed which is what I need. And It's a Milwaukee which is what I want. ( I called Milwaukee to verify.) I love Home Depot. But their mistake cost me time that I don't have. Don't make the same mistake I did. Double check the features and specifications. I would have kept it if I didn't already have a single speed Router. The one I had to send back is a nice Router. It wasn't easy to send back.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by spencer Great router, but check out the new combo with plunge base for more versatility
I've had this router for a few years, and it's been great - it hits a sweet spot for me in terms of power and weight. I've used it both freehand and in a router table, and the body grip design definitely makes handheld use more comfortable and accurate than with some other routers I've used, but I'd still recommend mounting it on a table when possible. The biggest drawback for me was that, at the time, there was no plunge base available for it. Now that I've got some projects where a plunge base would be especially useful, I find myself looking at routers again. It appears Milwaukee now has a combo for this router with both fixed & plunge bases, much like their more powerful 2.5 HP model. Unfortunately, the only place I've been able to find the plunge base available by itself is direct from Milwaukee, and it costs more than the router does here. So, if you think you might at all have call for a plunge base, I'd go with the combo kit.

Best router owned so far. The body grip makes it very easy to grab the router and man handle it. the micro adjustment works great too.
