I had been a fan of Makita tools for years. But having bought a Milwaukee Drill in the past and being pleased with its performance I opted to try this grinder out and it has far outdone my expectations.
It has the power to do not only serious grinding but also the finesse for fine cutting jobs using thin cutoff wheels that had always been difficult to mount in the past but not so with this tool.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by hholbein Nicely made, solid tool
Positives: Amazing amount of power in such a small angle grinder -- it certainly didn't get bogged down cutting 1" and 2" concrete pavers. Nice guard system that's a breeze to adjust. Good ergonomics for holding/controlling the tool.
Negatives: the hold-on-setting for the paddle trigger switch engages almost too easily and is a bit balky to release -- a possible safety issue if you're not wary of it. The instruction booklet is skimpy; it would be handy to have the guard stamped with the rotational direction of the motor. Also, you need to order a separate Type 1 guard for metal cutoff work -- these aren't that easy to find online.

I read the reviews on various grinders and choose this Milwaukee grinder for quality. It has measured up. I have used it for hours cutting pipe, rebar, and metal sheet roofing. I am very pleased with it! I cannot seem to find Milwaukee pipe cutting disks but the Dewalt ones work fine although you will need a thin jawed vise grip to remove the disc when it is worn out. Dewalt uses a different mounting technique than Milwaukee does but the threads are the same on the shaft.

This Milwaukee grinder works great. It is strange that the Milwaukee website does not offer a complete assortment of grinder discs for this unit with the 5/8-11 hub thread. If you are going to sell a great grinder you also need to sell all of the disposables (discs) that go with it as well.

This product is Milwaukee's superior quality. However paddle switch has an awkward safety -lock on button. With welding gloves on I found it very difficult to push the lock on button for continuous run, this was a feature I purchased this model for. If you wear gloves often when using grinder I suggest you look at other switch - trigger options.

Easy to setup up the guard and get started. This grinder has plenty of power, and feels solidly built. I bought this over a Makita for the 5 year warranty and extra power with the Milwaukee. Its a bit heavier than some others in the same price range, but that wasn't a huge concern for me. Have only used a cordless angle grinder before this one, and in comparison, this thing is crazy powerful.
