Customer Questions & Answers

does this saw have a lazer for cutting precise?

Asked by: elsa123
There is not a lazer on this saw but an aftermarket lazer can be bolted on.

How is bevel angle adjusted?

Is the control for this adjustment located on the back of the saw or on the front? I've read that there is a digital read out, is the read out for the miter angle or the bevel angle?
Asked by: Anonymous
Release a large handle at the rear of the saw and tilt the saw left or right. There is angle gauge, that once I set it properly, has proven accurate.

12 in. Sliding Dual Bevel Miter Saw is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 104.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beast! This is my second saw of this model. I am a professional and my first one lasted 8 years and worked extremely hard. I crossed over 300,000 miles through various states using this saw cutting literally miles of wood trim and even some dimensional 2 x lumber. It was a beast of a saw and that is why I bought another just like it. Thanks Milwaukee!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow. Amazing saw. Everything you'd ask for. Check out a few YouTube reviews to see everything. Only thing I'd ever change would be to add the laser. And not because you need it, just because there's nothing else to add.

We have had a Milwaukee miter saw for the last few years that is used in a high school wood shop, and gets abused because of its use by inexperienced students. It held up very well, so we purchased a second one for another classroom.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Near Homerun... I bought this after returning a new 2017 Rigid miter saw (with a now well-known blade wobble flaw in those units). On the Milwaukee.... The dust collection into the supplied bag is actually really good—probably the best on the market. The table moves and locks nicely, and accurate out of the box. The handle LED fine-tuner is also very accurate, if that's something the finisher's need. The LED work lights provide nice lighting in dimmer situations. The saw falls short, compared to new ones on the market (like the Dewalt and the new 12" Rigid) with a turn handle to tighten the miter table, as where new designs are a faster, simple on/off lock. And both the new Rigid and Dewalt have an LED guide-light system (XPS) that casts the shadow of the saw blade on your workpiece providing an infallible guideline, which does speed up work flow. Again, the Milwaukee has LED flood lights, but they don't provide this kind of guidance (which I admittedly thought they did when I bought it.) Also, there is no work clamp provided. It's a great saw, but it would be nice to see these little updates in this older design, which all together, would make the saw more efficient to use. The new Rigid—if it were engineered without the blade wobble and vibration issues—would've been perhaps the best saw on the market with the widest miter settings, extended tables, guide clamp, good weight, great price, and LED guide light that works like a darn.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Overall a good quality saw, but with some issues. In all this is a good quality saw that has some nice features. The lights, digital miter readout, and a soft start motor are great. It's also solid and well built. That said it also has it's flaws. The old school undermount rails are reasonably smooth, but as with all undermounts when you push the head of the saw in , you are basically pushing at an angle which tends to introduce unwanted error. This is one of the reasons most rails these days are mounted higher up. The upward facing miter detents tend to collect sawdust, and if you are not very diligent about cleaning them, they can easily throw your cuts off by half a degree or more. Curiously the miter table sits slightly lower than the rest of the table, and when cutting thin delicate pieces this can cause unwanted tearout and even a slight bevel on the cut end. This is a great saw for framing, decking, or something similar, where durability is more important than precision, but I can't recommend it for high end finish work or cabinet making
