Answer:
This saw should do the trick. Be sure you get a brush or tree cutter blade which is designed for this purpose. The proper blade is as important as having the right saw for the job. The wrong blade will make the saw and you work harder in getting the work done.

This product works well for small trees and bushes. Pick up a good pruning blade from the your local hardware store. I cut down 6-inch diameter bushes with no problem.

Well, there are electric chainsaws which are less scary. Cutting "brush" I would say this is not great. Brush is--in my mind--quite a bit of small branches and you would take a lot of time to cut all that with a sawzall. 12 amp is plenty of power. The longer blades are probably fine for small trees. I would recommend the Milwaukee blades as they are stiffer. You also want to remember to let the saw stop Read More

The sawzall type of saw you want to press against the wood, not swing through brush. Also, for soft/pliable brush, this is NOT the right tool. The teeth on the blade are too small and you will end up pushing the brush around, not cutting it.
I hope that is of some help. Read Less

Answer:
The extension cord should have a rating equal to or above the saw rating. If the cord has a multiple outlet end be sure the cord rating in amps is equal to or above all the tool amp ratings combined when using multiple tools at once.

I think it's possible to review the owners manual prior to purchase through the Home Depot website. There is information about the correct size extension cords to use in the manual.

The 6536-21 Milwaukee® 13-Amp Super SAWZALL® is double insulated and can use either a two or three wire extension cord. As the distance from the supply outlet increases, you must use a heavier gauge extension cord. Using extension cords with inadequately sized wire causes a serious drop in voltage, resulting in loss of power and possible tool damage. The smaller the gauge number of the wire, the greater the capacity of the cord. For example, a 14 gauge cord can carry a higher current than a 16 gauge cord. When using more than one extension cord to make up the total length, be sure each cord contains at least the minimum wire size required. Please refer to operators manual for full details about extension cord use. Read Less

Best? That is hard to say.
This is a moderate duty saw. Sawzalls are great for destruction and getting into strange angles and removing a small section of something.
If you only use it a couple of times a year, you could probably go with a cheaper one. All the brands here are fairly well known and for the occasional user fine.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by does the job the saw was what i needed around the farm. it goes thru metal aqnd wood with ease. i used it cot cut 3/4 inch plywood and also metal barn siding and it worken great. February 17, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Tool Best reciprocating saw available today!!!! Used it to replace a Sawzall my father purchased in 1966. Couldn't get parts for that one any longer so we replaced it with a new Sawzall. January 1, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by good performance This saw works very good. I bought it a year and a half ago and I use it a lot. I had to use it to cut off the end of a counter top because my circular saw's blade had dull teeth. This saw cut through an old 60s counter-top which was Formica over two sheets of ply wood and it plowed through it. Also, I recommend using Milwaukee's blades because I had to cut through 2x4's with nails in them and the blades cut through both wood and metal. I highly recommend this saw to some one in the construction business. March 29, 2008
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Blows away thee compation This is a awesome piece of equipment that everyone should have weather you are a DIY or a professional contractor it will Handel any job. November 1, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good saw, poor case! Saw is what I expected it to be. Good saw, a little on the heavy side. Case on the other hand, is poorly designed. Very little room for extra blades, and no room for the cord if you have extra blades in the case. Also you have to remove the blade from the sawzall before you can put it into the case. August 20, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good quality tool with great performance The power and performance of this model is what I expected in a Milwaukee tool. The blade locking feature is easy to use and eliminates the need for having the saw arbor in the extended position to get the blade in as in other brands. The variable speed combined with the adjustable blade reciprocating feature make it easy to "dial in" the best cut under many different conditions. March 25, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Incredible saw This saw is a beast! I bought it for around the house work and I couldn't be happier. It cuts through anything I put in its path and it seems to have plenty of power to spare. Milwaukee's keyless chuck is robust and has never failed to release - leading to effortless blade changes. I'd definitely recommend this saw to anybody who's looking for a great saw-zall. September 29, 2012
