Cutting 316ss 12g unistrut

I have 12 guage 316 stainless steel unistrut to cut. I purchased the Milwakee 90 endurance blade and cut with a Dewalt 1300RPM multi cut saw and only got 5 cuts before the blade stopped working. I applied very little pressure on the saw while cutting. Can you explain what could be the issue please
Asked by: Scott
12 gauge 316 SS is a difficult material and even more difficult in a unistrut configuration because the amount of material being removed varies through the cut. That said, we would expect the blade to make more than 5 cuts. Based on the information provided, it’s likely too little pressure was applied, resulting in a slow feed rate, which would cause the blade to heat up excessively and cause premature failure. Attached is a guideline chart for metal cutting feed rates. In general, it’s recommended the user add about 1 second for SS.
