It has an AWESOME red plastic, seemingly durable container! The cardboard was on the outside of the container when we purchased it. Honestly, that was one of the major selling points for me; that spiffy container.

Answer: 
There is a cardboard cover around the hard case, and gives you room in the bottom to store extra blades. So, yes the saw is wrapped with cardboard but you pick up the black handle out of the middle to carry it wich is connected to the hardshell case.

It comes with a red hard plastic case. It's not contractor grade but I use it for a lot of home improvement projects and the case makes it easier to store and transport. The only gripe I have is the one of the clips that close it doesn't stay attached when the case is opened. It's a minor annoyance but not a show stopper. No, mine did not. However, when I first unboxed it, I decided to make my own DIY T bar Rip guide from scrap 3/4" plywood so that the fence is customized to the blade and shoe distance for perfect cuts. I made the rip guide as my very first cuts on this saw!!!! So freggin easy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love this saw!! this is the best saw out there -- have been using the Milwaukee for years and when I had to get a new one was very disappointed that I could not find it -- went to the local home depot store and they had everything but this -- all the others do not have the weight of this one and it matters!! tried to ask a sales clerk and he was very rude and unhelpful -- decided to look online at homedepot.com -- best decision ever as they had it and it was delivered within a few days -- definitely will be looking on line for anything else we need from home depot from now on -- you do not have to deal with rude employees!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from TILT-LOK Circular Saw Ok The initial purchase resulted in a defective tool - there was a noticeable vibration in the unit, perhaps due to a bad bearing. Whatever the cause, how did this unit ever pass QA before being released for sale? This resulted in taking the time to return and replace the item. The saw was bundled with a 24T framing blade which can cause considerable tear out with plywood or other laminates. Therefore, the cost of the saw must be incremented by the price of an additional blade, figure $15 - $20 for use with laminated materials.

Here is the big deal: Power, adjustable handle, and the real big deal, the forward handle is attached to the base plate, not the motor. To me, this is the bigger deal, your forward hand is way off to the side on big cuts, and you can see everything. One other: I was going to get the Makita because of the forward blower that would push saw dust out of the line of sight. Also, I have other Makita tools. The Milwaukee does not have a blower up front because it does not need it! 100% of the saw dust travels through the rear discharge. I love this tool. Ripped 3/4 inch OSB as straight as and arrow.

This is our only circular saw. It has never let us down. We were building an addition recently and needed a man on the ground to cut and send lumber up. I had no hesitation to buy another Milwaukee as it is dependable, powerful and rugged. This saw is the best at Home Depot and Lowes in my opinion. Josh- Richmond
