Product Overview

The Milwaukee Fixed-Base Production Router has a powerful 15 amp, 3-1/2 max hp EVS motor. For a consistent, quality finish when using the tool, you have the ability to precisely match the tool's RPM to the bit diameter using the 36-position speed dial. For controlled startups and reduced motor wear, the router features a reliable electronic soft start. It also has an exclusive linear height adjustment system with above-the-table access for fast and precise coarse adjustments to within 1/8 in. and 1/64 in. for micro adjustments. Being above the table eliminates the need for awkward, inconvenient adjustments, or an auxiliary router lift.

  • Includes a 3-1/2 max hp fixed-base production router, two 1-1/8 in. collet wrenches, 1/2 in. collet, T-handle wrench and 2-1/2 in. sub-base
  • Electronic variable speed of 10,000-22,000 RPM
  • Premium electronic feedback circuitry that maintains speed and power under load
  • Industry-standard bolt-hole pattern and router base diameter, along with removable handles for insert plate clearance
  • Readily converts any existing table or production jig setup
  • Unique motor contamination shield that keeps damaging debris out without sacrificing airflow
  • Durable, rubber shield for dust-free access to the height adjustment system
  • UL, CSA and ETL listed
  • 5-year limited manufacturer warranty

How do I know what HP router I need For larger bits

Asked by: Anonymous
Although your question is two years old, I figured I'd answer for others. The larger the diameter of a router bit the slower the speed of the router should be and with a greater horsepower. A 1 1/2" diameter cut bit would generally be around 18,000 rpm. The slower speed prevents larger bits from breaking apart because of centrifugal force. If you don't have a variable speed router you can buy an external speed controller.

Customer Reviews

3-1/2 Max HP Fixed-Base Production Router is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Superb machine I bought this router as a replacement for an old Sears/Craftsman one I had been using for nearly two decades. When I took the Milwaukee out of the box and powered it up, the difference in quality was immediately obvious. It is quiet, powerful and tackles any job without any effort. I have it mounted under a router table and the 'from the top' adjustment is appreciated, although you still have to reach under the table to lock and unlock the height adjustment. Perhaps the most serious disadvantage is the need to reach under the table to change bits. This can sometimes be a bit tricky, but is compensated by the pleasure using the machine once set up. I rated the 5625-20 four (4) stars, but this is only because the system does not permit me to rate it 4.5 stars! As an example of my satisfaction, I now plan on buying a smaller (1-3/4 or 2-1/4 hp) Milwaukee router for lighter, hand-held jobs. Great product, Milwaukee!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply the best router on the market I own a professional cabinet shop and have used several other routers including dewalt and porter cable in the past. I have found this Milwaukee router to bee the best that I have ever seen. It simply works. It does not come with a 1/4" collet because it was not ment for light duty work.1/4" collet's can be easily purchased either from Home Depot or straight from Millwauke. I plan too purchase another one to replace my old shaper. Millwaukee is a first class manufacture all the way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for router table use I mounted the Milwaukee 3.5 Hp motor to an Incra Master-Lift-II and have used it to swing a 3-1/2 inch raised panel bit. It cut the cherry panel with ease. I chose the Milwaukee over its main competitor (PC) due to its lower noise level. The motor is smooth and appears extremely well built. The variable speed control works great. I have not used the depth adjustment built into the Milwaukee because it is mounted on an Incra Lift so I cant comment on it. This is a very heavy router made for production. For occasional hand routing jobs it might be a bit much, but it is outstanding for table use. It puts a smile on my face every time I use it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superlative Router Combo Just Installed my new Milwaukee 5625l-20 into my new Incra Router lift. The pair are an awesome combination. After a little fine tuning, I can report they perform up and even exceed expectations. I have reduced setup time and production time and increased the accuracy of my cuts. I highly recommend both products. The Home Depot price for the router is the best around!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A powerhouse router This has everything you need to handle routing projects that require more HP and variable speed. I already had a trim router so this Milwaukee is a perfect complement to handle all of my routing needs. This router is large so I recommend you mount it in a router table. Overall very satisfied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great router, excellent quality I love it! the router is very sturdy and the slow start makes it easy to handle. It seems very well built, and was priced affordably. I haven't had it all that long (3 weeks) but so far it has been really nice.
