Product Overview

The Milwaukee Hole Dozer Hole Saw features Rip guard, the strongest tooth form in the industry, backed by the Rip guard limited lifetime tooth break warranty. Each tooth is built with more steel behind the cutting edge for added strength. The Rip Guard warranty on tooth breaks is a first for the hole saw industry. The added tooth strength along with 8% cobalt give added life to the teeth, allowing for increased productivity on the jobsite, as well as continued hole quality. The Hole Dozer includes Plug Jack, an all access slot design that allows for full access during plug removal. The Plug Jack gives access lower into the cup for thick material and higher towards the teeth for thin material. With multiple positions to apply leverage and better plug access, Plug Jack increases productivity and eliminates wasted downtime between holes. For fast, tool-free change-outs, use Milwaukee's universal Quick-Change Arbors. 49-56-7210, 49-56-7240, 49-56-7250 and 49-56-9100.

I have a Makita hole saw set, and actually used the adapter from that set, so it worked out perfectly.

Answer:
Yes, the Hole Dozer can cut through thick steel, even I-beams. For thick steel low RPM with generous cutting fluid/wax is recommended.

Can I use this hole saw in drill press to cut thru Clear Extruded Acrylic Plexiglass Sheet 3/8 inch thick?
If yes, then what speed is recommended, 600 RPM or lower? Should I use any fluids to reduce generated heat? Thanks, Max

Answer:
Yes it will but take it slow so not to crack the material. Some persons run the drill in reverse after the center bit is through to cut without digging into the material, the more teeth you have on a bit (finer cut blade) is what you need to cut such materials.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awsome tool I needed to cut a hole in a steel "I" beam. Amazingly, it cut through it with no trouble.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Product Description Inaccurate The product description for this hole saw indicates that the Milwaukee arbor item number 49-56-7250 will fit this hole saw, which I made sure of before I bought because that is the arbor I have. However, it does not fit. If you look at the product description for the arbor, it indicates it is only for 1 1/4" and larger hole saws. Milwaukee and/or Home Depot need to get it together and make sure all products that are indicated to be compatible do in fact work together.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Doesn't cut through metal I bought this to cut through a 20ga steel sheet for an enclosure, but it didn't work at all. Had to buy a step drill to get the job done. Also tried this on thin stucco. It got through, but the bit was completely burnt out doing so. The packaging didn't say you could use for stucco, but I thought I would mention it in case anyone was wondering how it would perform. Don't recommend this product for metal or stucco use. This did work great with wood.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Second time is the charm. This is the second of these that I purchased within a one year time frame. I was using the product on a Delta Drill press when the first one began to dull while cutting through 3/4" pine boards after only cutting 12 holes and not in succession. I noticed that the hole saw had minor cracks on the side of it so I stopped. I replaced it with a new one and have, since cut 16 holes with out a problem. I would recommend this product to both Beginner and pro.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job if you keep it cool I see a number of reviews criticize this saw because it dulled on them in both wood or metal. I too have ruined some of these hole saws in the past by not keeping them cool while sawing the hole. Use lots of oil or soapy water in a spray bottle to cool the teeth as you are drilling and the saw teeth will retain their temper and saw efficiently. This one worked great to cut a taillight hole in jeep CJ body armor .

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lasted less than a week Bought to cut holes in thin metal this tool only made 6 holes before being completely rounded out and unusable. The only thing worse than this product was the terrible customer service. Do yourself a favor a buy a nicer tool. I will not be buying another Milwaukee tool because of the poor quality and horrendous customer service.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from poor performance, drilled one hole in sheet metal and blade is dull when drilling the sheet metal which was only .032" thick the center bit wobbled and the hole drill started to orbit, had to exert a lot of pressure to cut. When the hole was finished the hole drill was completely dull and the drilled hole was undersized. Had to use half round files to finish hole.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Holesaw I needed to cut 3" holes in 14 GA metal and it worked great. I removed the 2" Husky hole saw from the Husky arbor and the Milwaukee fit up nicely. The only problem I had was the vibration from the drilling loosened the set screw on the pilot bit. It was frustrating but I got the job done.
