Product Overview

The Milwaukee Hole Dozer Hole Saw features Rip guard, the strongest tooth form in the industry, backed by the Rip guard limited lifetime tooth break warranty. Each tooth is built with more steel behind the cutting edge for added strength. The Rip Guard warranty on tooth breaks is a first for the hole saw industry. The added tooth strength along with 8% cobalt give added life to the teeth, allowing for increased productivity on the jobsite, as well as continued hole quality. The Hole Dozer includes Plug Jack, an all access slot design that allows for full access during plug removal. The Plug Jack gives access lower into the cup for thick material and higher towards the teeth for thin material. With multiple positions to apply leverage and better plug access, Plug Jack increases productivity and eliminates wasted downtime between holes. For fast, tool-free change-outs, use Milwaukee's universal Quick-Change Arbors. 49-56-7210, 49-56-7240, 49-56-7250 and 49-56-9100.

Bored 20 holes in 1/4" steel plate and this saw is as sharp after the last as it was on the first. Used plenty of cutting oil, enough pressure to produce continuous chips, and 250 rpm speed on my drill press. Holes are clean and round. All this and a lifetime tooth breakage warranty? Very impressive and highly recommended.

I bought the 4" hole saw in order to install nine, 4 inch round ceiling electrical boxes. The ceiling is 1/2" gypsum blue board with a veneer plaster sand swirl finish skim coat. The first three holes went fine, but I noticed the teeth were dulling at an alarming rate. By the time I got to the seventh hole, the teeth had completely worn away, and I had to "cut" new teeth into it using a Dremel tool and a an small stone. I realize that this hole saw is only meant for wood and steel, and I'm sure that the 1/8" veneer plaster is what dulled it, (once it got through the veneer plaster it cut like butter) but I was surprised at how quickly the teeth wore away considering that it was dulled by the fourth hole.

I purchased this exact size from Harbor freight in a 3 pack with variable sizes which is $10 less than this bit by itself. The generic bit made 5 recessed lighting holes with ease through lathe and plaster. I assumed if I spent a little more money it would get one that lasted longer and cut faster. I was completely wrong! This bit went dull after cutting two holes and I even pre-drilled the holes with the dull cheap bit to avoid the lathe from eating the teeth. I am sure this is good for cutting balsa wood at best.

I used this with a quick change center drill bit arbor from Milwaukee and this was an excellent hole saw through my roof for a new attic fan vent. Makita 18V LXT 1/2 drill in higher torque mode was sufficient to cut through without flaw or trouble, maintaining light pressure and letting the saw do the work. A heavier duty drill would have provided even more torque, and with a handle mounted I think this saw would have drilled through quite rapidly. Excellent quality, excellent performance.

I bought this hole saw to make a neat hole in a plywood sheet that I was installing between tow plastic shelves that Home Depot sells. It's just the right diameter to let the plastic legs of the shelves fit thru. Used my cordless DeWalt drill and the hole saw did an excellent job of cutting thru the layers of the plywood. it has side holes so you can stick a screwdriver in to pry out the slug after you have made the cut.
