I am looking to clear out the end of a 4" drain pipe that has some ice build-up. Ideally, i would like this mounted on a 12-16" shaft in order to get up the pipe a bit. Currently, I use a 16' paddle bit to chip away at the ice but this has been putting some good size knicks in the pipe..
Thanks for any input!

Answer:
This is not made to be mounted on a drill - I believe there are cups available for drill mounting, but this is not it, it's intended to be mounted on a hand held grinder.

Answer:
There are a lot of factors that go into your question. Could this be used in a drill ... yes. You will need a 'shaft' of some sort threaded into the female thread portion of the brush. This is intended to thread onto an angle grinder. Will the drill have enough torque to turn this with any great force ... depends on the drill.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Took Behr paint off of the concrete street.... it only lasted 7-10 minutes. At $20 it is Kinda costly. If I was to use this on anything else I'm sure it would last a lot longer. October 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great qualirty x less money the 3 inch cup brush is great tool for remove rust or clean welding. September 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Steel Cleaning Product This Brush Knot Cup held up well to my old, rusty railings at my mid century home in the Upper Midwest. Loose rust and paint was easily removed from over 15 linear feet of railing. I was able to reuse the product on an additional project I had not even planned on getting to due to its durability and effectiveness. September 16, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Brush Knot Cup I use this product a lot with my angle grinder to get rid of rust on metal surfaces; it works like a champ! I have a small-size Makita grinder, and at first could not find the right size brush to fit the metric threads. The sales person was extremely helpful in helping me find an adapter; much thanks! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very impressed I'll admit it - wire wheels and cups scare the heck out of me. I've avoided using one for years primarily because of horror stories I've heard about these things grabbing work and slinging it across the room or into a body part, or stories of the wheels' wire ended up embedded in body parts. Scary stuff! But I do blacksmithing in my spare time and needed a better way to deal with scale removal on larger items. So I trotted myself down to the HD and gave this one a try. I have to say, I"m terribly impressed. First, I have used this quite a bit and have yet to have the first piece of wire sling off of it. Second, it does a terrific job, takes de-scaling a piece from a long job on a grinder/polisher to a couple of minutes at the MOST with this mounted on my hand grinder. Third, it is so far extremely durable, I inspected the thing just last night and it's difficult to even tell it's been used, there is a little bit of bending in of the face wires, but that's barely noticeable - the twists are intact and look like they looked when I bought it. An added bonus, BTW, it imparts an every so slight hammered texture to the steel, which I find I REALLY like - if I could figure out a way to use this on very small items I would, I like the texture so much I prefer it now. I honestly can't imagine having to replace this anytime soon, but if I ever do, I will be right back to HD to buy the same one. March 10, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Long Lasting but STIFF I was looking for a "softer" cup brush to fit my 4-1/2" angle grinder to clean up a textured, rusted, painted steel diamond plate surface. This brush, be it very stiff, is working fairly well and holding up great. Being that it is so stiff, getting it between the diamond texture is a little harder that I had hoped for, making things take a little longer. Price, I felt, was on the stiff side too.... Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Wire Brush I thought the brush was very good. The brush itself was solid. August 22, 2014
