Product Overview

The Milwaukee 4-1/2 in. Hole Dozer Hole Saw features Rip Guard teeth that were built with more steel behind the cutting edge for added strength. They give you enhanced productivity on the job site as well as better hole quality. They're also backed by a limited lifetime tooth break warranty. The Hole Dozer comes with a Plug Jack, an all-access slot design that allows for full access during plug removal. The Plug Jack enables access lower into the cup for thick material and higher toward the teeth for thin material. With multiple positions to apply leverage and better plug access, the Plug Jack eliminates wasted downtime between holes. Pair this hole saw kit with universal quick-change arbors for fast, tool-free change-outs (model numbers 49-56-7210, 49-56-7240, 49-56-7250 and 49-56-9100 - sold separately).

Answer:
Yes, the Hole Dozer can cut through thick steel, even I-beams. For thick steel low RPM with generous cutting fluid/wax is recommended.

This saw is designed to cut though wood, metal, and PVC. It should be fine to cut though any material as long as it is not masonry, glass, tile or concrete.

I have a Makita hole saw set, and actually used the adapter from that set, so it worked out perfectly.

Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 252 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by No hole Did not even go thru corrugated wall once before teeth wore off, maybe it was a defect October 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does the job if you keep it cool I see a number of reviews criticize this saw because it dulled on them in both wood or metal. I too have ruined some of these hole saws in the past by not keeping them cool while sawing the hole. Use lots of oil or soapy water in a spray bottle to cool the teeth as you are drilling and the saw teeth will retain their temper and saw efficiently. This one worked great to cut a taillight hole in jeep CJ body armor . September 28, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by is cheap material is cheap is burn when makw hole is not come thrue not recommend this product September 20, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hole saw, easy clean out of plugs- it's bout time! I have often wondered why someone didn't make a hole-saw with openings big enough to quickly remove the cutout materials. Finally Milwaukee got it right. I will be changing over to these on any future purchase. I only wish these things were more affordable. September 14, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Did its job Cut thru 1/8 steel work alot better if had a bigger drill August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by What an improvement! I have used many hole saws in my 35 years as a carpenter / handy-person. INCLUDING Milwaukee hole saws. This one has a new tooth design (new to me) that cuts like it was a freshly sharpened chain saw. No ripping or tearing, just a fast aggressive cut. Then add the new stepped feature for removing the hole plug. I don't know how many hours I have spent trying to dig the wood 'hole' out of my old hole saws. What a pain! This one has a stepped set up where it is so easy to reach into the side of the saw... stepping a screw driver around - bumping up and up until the 'hole' is removed from the saw. Someone was really thinking when they came up with this hole saw. I can see why they call it a "Dozer". January 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect hole saw, cuts great and easy to clean out after each cut. The saw is easy to use and cleans easily too. I also came back and purchase a two and a half saw after that purchase. February 10, 2016
