I want to able to cut thick metal, what blade and TPI is better? It looks like both 18 and 24 TPI blades are rated up to 5/16, now I cut 1/2" of mild steel yesterday with original 14 TPI blade, I just went with slower speed. I have some bars that are 1" and 1-1/2" and I plan to cut them, is this the best blade for the job?

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by band saw blades I didn't know price included 2 blades. What a deal! January 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great blade This 24 tpi blade is really good for thinner materials. Cuts very well. Good quality. May 19, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Very disappointed, poor performance I'd previously purchased another brand of blades at a different retailer, but I know the Milwaukee name, own several Milwaukee tools that I'm happy with, so I thought their blades would be good performers, too. That is sadly not the case. I'm a blacksmith, and with the other brand I could get a LOT of use out of a blade, at least a month of solid use before having to replace it. With the Milwaukee blades I'm very lucky to get a weekend out of one. This past Friday I changed out a blade and by Saturday evening it would not even NICK the mild steel I was trying to cut, just 1/4" piece of mild steel rod! The blades were already worn to a nub, and I only use mild steel so I was not over-stressing the blade. I'm returning to the other retailer to get the other brand and won't be buying Milwaukee blades again. February 9, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Solid These blades are unstoppable. They bend, heat up and take a beating and still do a great job. This blade does cut better when it is cold. January 1, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very high quality Used one blade to make about 30 cuts at a 45 degree angle in 1" Sch. 40 pipe. Only needed one blade and observed little fall-off in time required to make each cut. These are really good quality and last a long time. April 29, 2014
