Both boxes easily fit side by side long ways in my 4' wide by 5' long Honda Ridgeline bed! A truck is fine, go get one man, and wipe it down with WD40. Then make it your alter of manlieness... ; )

Answer:
A pickup truck would be fine. They come in two boxes, and using a large cargo strap to keep them from shifting, I've managed to carry the boxes containing two complete units in my 1-ton truck. HD staff will load, but you'd be advised to have at least two people, or a forklift, to unload. I've done it alone, and it's a bit dicey...

Either is fine, but know that this is packed in two boxes. And both are VERY HEAVY. TWO PEOPLE REQUIRED to lift the boxes, as well as to assemble the cabinets.
Having said that, these will be difficult to find in a local store. They are usually only in stores on rare occasions for special promotions. If you have to order, I highly recommend having these delivered direct to the house.

This comes in two pieces. The rolling cabinet and the the chest...easy enough to put in the back of a pickup, which how i got it home. An extra set of hands to help unload is useful :-)

What's the difference in the combo kit, vs. buying the top and bottom separately?

This question is from 46 in. 16-Drawer Tool Chest and Rolling Cabinet Set, Red and Black

I wouldn't think saving me the trouble of throwing one extra item in my cart could be it, but it looks like the top and bottom chests are still keyed differently in the combo that comes with both the top and bottom. Is there any reason to order this combo kit online, vs. just going to the local store and picking up the separate top and bottom components?

They are sold individually. no deal when buying top and bottom. Good Luck finding one in a store. they have been selling as fast as they get them. plus transporting them can be a little tricky. 1 cabinet weighs close to 250lbs and the other over 180lbs. buy online and have them shipped to your house. one less thing to have to lift in and out of a truck.

Answer:
First, you do save some $$ buying the combo. As for buying it online or pick up at store- have it delivered to you either way. The bottom unit weighs ~ 245# & the top is 183#. I purchased from the store, had it delivered for $65- WELL worth it vs trying to man-handle it from a trailer or truck bed. Easy to assemble, even for those w/ limited mechanical skills.

top and bottom are keyed differently. buying separately is if you only want 1 part maybe you have a 46" bottom (any brand same dimensions ) and only want to buy the top to put on it.

Yes you can. The power tool drawer is a really neat design feature. You can move the front and back holder independently to get the right size or you can remove them all together and use the space for something else. I have hitachi, milwaukee and makita tools (corded and cordless) in the drawer.

The drill and battery holder in the bottom right hand drawer of the lower cabinet is a lift out device that sits on top of the drawer pad. Unless it is wedged, it should lift out rather easily.

46 in. 16-Drawer Tool Chest and Rolling Cabinet Set, Red and Black is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 299.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best non-tool truck box you will ever see. I would recommend this product to anyone that needs a solid tool box. This thing is impressive and is loaded with convenient features that help set it apart from the typical Husky, Craftsman, and Kobalt boxes. The finish just feels though. You can lock the casters and push on it and the box does not flex. It is very solid and very well built. The wide drawer is great to hold sockets and ratchets, and the rest of the doors being split helps to keep things separated (a lot of people prefer wide drawers the length of the box, but having two drawers allows you to divide things even further. IE: Pliers in one drawer, cutters in another, etc. rather than all in one wide drawer). The peg board is also great for storing your most used tools (in my case I keep my m12 3/8 Impact and my m12 ratchet up there) along with some common screwdrivers. Excellent box, highly recommended. It sits in my shop next to my brothers Snap On box and it gets the job done just as well for half of the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value This box is a great value. The construction is heavy duty. Everything is solid. The ball bearing slides work great. The drawer sizes are a love/hate deal. If you need tons of shallow drawers, this isn't your box. But if you have a mix of tools that require some shallow, some midsize, and some deep drawers, then you're in luck. Overall, I'm very pleased with it. Negatives: the paint really shows greasey fingerprints. If this bothers you, clean it. Just like you wipe down your wrenches before you put them away. Problem solved. The other niggle is the paint, or lack thereof to the hidden surfaces. This is only a issue if you live/work in a salt, or fertilizer factory, or other super corrosive environment.

After you pick up your Teflon tape and faucet you go back by it and look again. Every time you stop into Home Depot you check it out. And you know you'll eventually pull the trigger. I did and it is as cool as I thought it would be. Thoughtfully constructed, rugged, lots of room and feels like it belongs in my garage. The other cabinets from both Home Depot and Lowes pale in comparison. Love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best tool box on the market for it's size My Milwaukee tool chest is wonderfully thought out construction. The construction of steel is strong. The locking caster wheels and frame underneath is made to last against the weight we put in them. The drawers open and close nicely. Having a power strip built in allows me to have a charging station for all my cordless tools. The cordless and extra battery's store nicely in it's own drawer specifically for them. Very Satisfied!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's a big tool chest Got mine yesterday, ordered it as one unit. No damage or scratches just a little dirt. Took an hour to assemble, which was simple. All locks use 1 key (got four of them), turned the top power strip around so that the on/off switch was easier to access (6 screws, used a flat head screw driver). I looked at master force tool chests at menards (they seem better built than this one) which if it's like their hand tools, they are made in the United States. I kind of wish I would've bought one of those. I do wish milauwkee would've put 2 drawers that run the length of the tool chest.
