Answer:
Some assembly. The casters, bumpers and handle need to be attached, the power cord needs to be poked out through the opening in the rear, the drawer liners need to be put into the drawers. Nothing one person can't do. A wrench is supplied, but a 10 mm and a 13 mm ratcheting socket make it easier. A Philips head screwdriver is the only other tool you need.

Some assembly is required. If you take a look at the owner's manual link, you can get an idea of the assembly steps (the chest and cabinet are in the same manual) .

Yes I stored, Dewalt and Makita in the rack of the lower drawer. The drawers are definitely big enough but I am contemplating building my own rack because of tool variation. While the rack works it wastes space.

Answer:
Yes. The bottom right hand drawer shown as holding battery pack type power tools is not secured to the drawer and can be removed easily. We have Ryobi and Porter Cable and Craftsman power tools and all fit just fine.

Most battery powered drills are of the same basic shape and will fit. They were not made
to be a tight exact fit for only one brand. I currently have a 18v and 20v dewalt in mine.

I have Ridgid power tools and they do fit in the power tool drawer, but not "perfectly" The batteries don't sit quite right either. The insert that holds them is pretty basic and can be removed.

Yes. Just like the Post Office saying If it Fits - It Ships ;) Seriously though the drawer has the tool stand that can be removed or used. Great design.

The top is painted steel and would scratch but there are available wood tops to put on this unit. The unit comes with a rubber Milwaukee mat that will suffice for light work. The top of the unit is about 38 inches high so it is a good height to work on.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 125 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Second one bought for storage I already owned this product along with the tool box that goes on top of it. While shopping for a rolling workbench / storage purchase, I realized I could buy this cabinet without the accompanying tool box. Works great and the quality is there. Not as good as premium Craftsman (by a tiny bit) but MUCH better price. Paired this with some Craftsman wall cabinets and it came out great! July 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice box! I Wanted to buy the smaller 28" one but the wife thru a hissy fit, so I ordered the bigger more expensive 46 " Next time she will learn August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Most help from H/Depot people to get this item bought and home. Very helpful! Love the chest! The cabinet is awesome. We bought the matching chest as well. A bit heavy, but that is an excellent sign of good quality. I wasn't sure of the size, but it has handled all of our tools nicely. With room to expand our tools. Also nice to know where a tool is instead of having to look in many different spots. The outlets and peg board are very useful. July 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great box This box is made of thicker metal than a lot of other boxes at a cheaper price. Highly recommend this box, i bought two of them October 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worth the price! For under 500 bucks you can't do better. It's not quite the quality of a Kennedy or upper end box but it is surprisingly well built for the price. The casters are better than I expected them to be and the built in power strip is nice. Really, the only bad thing I have to say about it is that two of the holes for the casters never got threaded so I had to tap them myself. A bit of a inconvenience but I'm not complaining. Just buy it already... you won't regret it October 17, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Price should not have gone up! The price should no have gone up on this box, the price was the best selling point of the item, since everyone started to buy them Milwakee increase it's price. Now for that price you make the educated buyer start looking at Craftsman which are known for their superior quality. You can find a good tool box from another brand at a better price, just take your time do not let yourself buy this item only because everyone else is doing it. The electric outlets and the 6 gauge reinforcements are great to support 1800 pounds, now most quality chest tools have industrial casters and an average 1500 pound load capacity as well as self closing drawers. The moment milwakee starts selling their products at high end well known manufacture prices they are going to find their sales decrease. Great tool box for it's capability not for the price. October 15, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good price Good product. Heavy duty for a good price. Drawers slide in and out. Lots of room. September 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Loving it Had been shopping around for a box for a while and the major brands were out of my league due to credit issues lol! So this was something very obtainable within my budget. I purchased it and its heavy which was a good sign. Very sturdy frame the casters are good heavy duty units. Powder coating and power outlet very good as well. Drawers need some braking in but the soft close drawers are very cool.. best bang for my buck now just putting some money away for the top section! Milwaukee needs to add a refrigerator to the boxes and they would be perfect lol... definitely recommend September 6, 2016
