Featuring a 5/8 in. hex quick-change retention system for fast, secure insertion/removal of auger bits and socket adaptors, this Milwaukee 9096-20 is especially useful when drilling and bolting applications require frequent accessory changes. This is the only variable speed impact wrench of its kind available. It has a Milwaukee 9096-20 built motor coupled with a large ram and anvil which produce up to 315 ft. lbs. of torque! The Milwaukee 9096-20 impact wrench can achieve tasks only larger impact wrenches could do in the past. Are they the same unit with different quick release chucks? Same anvil and inner working parts? Is 5/8 any heavier built in any way?

Answer: 
Both the 5/8” Hex and the 7/16” Hex Impacts offer 315 ft-lbs of Torque.The 7/16” Hex is used with a wide variety of auger, selfeed, or other bits with a 7/16” Hex shank. The anvil and front housing collar are different.
