This shear is a beast. It cuts steel like a hot knife through butter. Don't settle for less.

I purchased this tool to cut Master Rib metal roofing. I was amazed that it would not cut across the raised ribs and had been led to believe it would be no trouble to do so. I had gone to the Master Rib roofing website and they showed a similar tool although not a Milwaukee shear. They cut the video of a cut being made just before a raised rib would have been encountered........................? I believe in having the right tool for the job but it may be that this is not the right tool. If anyone is going to try and cut metal roofing I would not recommend this tool if the metal has any rises in it. I did notice it cut very well in the flat areas.

This is my second pair of Milwaukee shears, and I will buy no other brand. The first pair still works; however, I haven't been able to find a replacement head for it because it is 8 years old. When the first pair broke, I replaced it with a Dewalt shear, which lasted a few months, then another Dewalt shear, which lasted a few weeks, and then a Kawasaki shear, which lasted three cuts! I use the shears on up to 14 gauge welded wire, and only Milwaukee can handle the job. The other two brands are best used as boat anchors. Milwaukee shears are THE BEST.

Out of the box the cutting-on lock did not work so have to hold heavy tool and keep finger on trigger. This tool makes 2 parallel cuts, not one, so better know which line you want. No indication of this in instructions. The tool causes so much vibration of the sheet metal that need to specially secure the metal. Bought this for thinner gauge steel roof panels. For thinner applications stick with tin snips. This one is going back.

Shears ease of operation is second to none for FRP installation. They hold up well and the quality of the blades keep the tool in use daily. We have not worn out a set of blades (jaws) in this tool as of yet.
