Answer:
Yes, I've used it in as small as a half gallon plastic tub to pull cleaning solvent through the unit. I would not anticipate any issues with smaller containers; at worst you might need to put something under the can to raise it up a little bit, and be a little careful.

Since this sprayer M4910-20 has a 3000 PSI rating, is there a reason why extension pole for tip is not provided? Can we use Graco spray extension (20"/30") with this sprayer?

Also, is it possible to use a longe high pressurer hose such as 50 ft with M4910-20 ?

I own this unit, and I would not have purchased it if I had known that there are no extension arms which will fit the milwaukee spray gun. I called their technicians and they said the same thing. The only option they said was to go and purchase a graco gun and use their extension. It should only cost you an extra $250.00 or so, but who needs or wants extra money anyway??

Answer:
I was not able to use the extension, it does not fit the stock spray gun, but if you have other machines you can use the same hose and extension.
The hose is standard, so you can use the same hose and make it bigger you just need an adapter to connect more than one hose, and if you have a 50 foot one it should work fine.

Answer:
You should be able to use a Graco (or another manufacturer's gun)(for airless applications, only) and then you could use Graco's extensions. When I start a project that includes extensive ceiling painting, I plan to get a Graco gun in order to accommodate extensions.

As for the hose, your luck improves. The connections on the hose are standard, so you can use any standard longer airless hose and it'll work. There are also connectors out there so if you wanted to save money, you could purchase a shorter hose and connect it to the included hose to get your longer length. This is something I think I'll do, 25' means you have to move the sprayer more and that takes up time. Properly organized, you can move very fast with these units. Read Less

I used mine outside on the fine finish setting on a calm day. I would not recommend it in town or where neighbors are close on a windy day because of the possibility of overspray being blown onto a nearby house or car.
It should be OK if you watch your overspray. I would also recommend using something water-based so it is easier to clean if you do have any overspray issues.

Rated 3.9 out of 5 by 163 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great product for professional results! Set up is pretty simple once you get familiar with it the first time. This paint sprayer is a great buy! I used it to paint a pole barn roof with elastomeric (rubberized roof coating for metal roofs). I could paint approximately 800 sq in an hour. The paint sprayer tip would clog but it's not recommended to use in this sprayer. So I can't blame Milwaukee. A quick tip if you've never used a sprayer. If the nozzle does clog just turn the nozzle and back feed the nozzle to unclog it. Just spray the paint away from the project you are working on. It's shoots it out and can make a mess. Milwaukee has a FANTASTIC product support! They are really helpful if you have questions! I can't wait to use it on other projects around the house! September 16, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This has to be the best sprayer to own. Quick set up, very easy to use. Set paint, primed pump, and sprayed. Working on my new purchase of an 1800 sq ft home. Started in living room and knocked it out within 20 minutes. Very precise unit to work with. No mess. Easy startup and easy cleanup with garden hose attachment that hooks right up and cleans entire unit out. I am going to use this for many more projects to come. Sprayed entire garage in less than 10 minutes time. I give this unit my stamp of approval after working construction for the last 20 years. July 23, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Pretty good paint sprayer Finally just got done using sprayer and was very happy we had it. Pretty good coverage overall. Didn't have some of the issues some of the reviews claimed. It did shoot out lines but that only happened when I ran out of paint. I used it for three days total. Two days I primed whole house (1600 sq ft). Probably could have done in one day but we had to tape a section of house. The other day was to do the ceilings which was 85% popcorn. After running kilz the first day no problem, washed and clean per instructions. Second day, go to prime and it will not prime. Took off the intake basket and it primed and worked well. Cleaned intake basket after soaking all day. Third day, put back on the basket and it still wouldn't prime. Took it off and no problems. It performed well and looking forward to the hvlp mode on other projects. The only issue is the intake basket/filter. February 4, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very happy with my first paint sprayer I bought this because it is both air and airless operation. I like the versatility. The spray gun is a dual use gun. Takes most brands of spray tips. It comes with two tips. After research, I bought a RAC 517 spray tip at The Home Depot which I think is more suitable for interior walls. I'm not an expert. Never sprayed before. I watched loads of you tube videos on spraying. It turns out to be very easy. Because it is a dual use gun, not many standard attachments will work. Especially an extension wand. For this reason, I also purchased an inexpensive Ryobi spray gun. That way I can use an extension wand and other attachments. So far I have only used the original gun for airless spraying one room. And it works great! I painted a 10 X 20 room in less than 15 minutes. Clean up is no big deal. Just read the instructions. I bought more of the conditioning powder packets. One packet comes with the unit. Very happy with 5 gallon Kilz Pro-x paint too. Excellent quality at a good price. July 24, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great tool! (if you cannot prime the sprayer read this) We use to have a paint sprayer from a "very famous sprayers brand name" for a few years. The decision to buy this sprayer from Milwaukee came on the basis of a great brand name for tools and on a very reasonable price for such a list of advantages that this tool offers. 1. Very easy to move around the job site with a 5 gallon paint bucket. Thanks to big wheels and a platform for the bucket with the leak proof lid. 2. Convenient bag to keep all accessories. 3. Heavy duty turbine. Very low noise level compare to competitors. 4. Great combination of airless and HVLP! Love the finish paint option. 5. Very easy to clean. 6. (!) 2 years manufacturer warranty 7. Accepts spray tips from other manufacturers. I couldn't prime the sprayer at the first time. It would start pumping the air in the bucket from the priming line and a very little of paint. The cure for that problem was very obvious. I've got the clamp on the paint line, that brings the paint from the bucket to the sprayer, tight and that was it! After that the sprayer worked as a charm! If I would compare this tool to our old "big sprayer brand name" tool I would say that Milwaukee did a great job on this one and we are going to buy one more while it is still on sale. This sprayer works great and when you work using this tool it makes you to feel that you are using a heavy-duty sprayer you can relay on. Thank you, Milwaukee! June 19, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Spray System This Milwaukee combination airless/fine finish sprayer is phenomenal. For me, it has sprayed Zinsser Bull's Eye 123 primer (very heavy) in airless mode, as well as the thickest, heaviest Benjamin Moore Impervo cabinet paint available (in finish/HVLP mode) without a hiccup and with no thinning, whatsoever. Very impressive, indeed. It's a nice, complete package with everything the home handy person needs to do various painting jobs and even includes two different spray tips for different applications. Note: I also tried another well known "big box brand" "airless only" model (with no HVLP mode), which was much more difficult to control when spraying heavy material. Overall, this system is a real winner and I'm very, very pleased with it! (Yes, men can love their machines). So... so far, so good. And I have always been someone who hates PainTing. (It has the word "pain" in it, for good reason, in my estimation). Not so much, now. Another note: The Milwaukee spray gun has a unique nozzle design, and the tip saddle (and a seal) are not held "captive" as with the Gracos. So, care must be taken to keep from losing these items while cleaning. Spares are available through Milwaukee's parts distributor for these units, Gardner. It CAN use Graco reversible spray tips with no problems. For newbies, there are several great videos on YouTube that can be very helpful in setting up and cleaning sprayers. Everything I've seen from IdahoPainters (Chris Berry) or John Burbidge (How to paint a house), has been clear, concise and VERY HELPFUL. Once you've got it figured out (priming, setting, cleaning, etc), it's a snap. Really. Go forth and PAINT. July 2, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Machine I have used this sprayer on several projects, both interior and exterior full paint jobs, and can say that I am very happy with the performance. It has been very reliable and I have had no issues with it at all. I do have the advantage of having worked with a painting contractor for several months and was somewhat familiar with how a sprayer should work. As with any new tool there is a learning curve that goes along with it. For first timers the set up and clean-up process will be clumsy and frustrating with several looks at the instructions. But after a few uses these steps will become second nature. Overall for the price, this has been an excellent unit. October 23, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good capability, but no option for tip extension This unit appears to be a very good unit but I have not yet used it. With the dual purpose air option on the gun the user has the option of a fine coat spraying. That being said, having never used a sprayer before I was dumfounded when I determined that a nozzle tip extension is not available for this unit AT ALL. A significant shortcoming that had I known that I would not have purchased it (and would still do so if it were an option). I will either have to buy another gun from another supplier and an extension, or stain 800 feet of fence without an extension (a very undesirable prospect). IF you are savvy about sprayers I recommend this product. July 16, 2013
