Answer:
It will work out of 1 gal cans. However, once the paint level gets down to the mesh filter you can no longer spray. (several ounces of paint will still be in the bottom of the can). If you know you are going to use more than 1 gallon it is best to transfer the paint/stain to a larger bucket.

Answer:
Yes. You can use oil-based paint with the M4910-10 Milwaukee® Airless Paint Sprayer. Please note, you cannot use textured paint with this sprayer. We recommend a non-flammable paint thinner to clean the oil-based paint from the sprayer.

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 60 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product The airless paint sprayer works great. gives you nice clean job. October 14, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to use We bought this when we were remodeling a room for priming everything at once, worked great and super fast and easy. We even used it to paint the room afterwards. Clean up is simple just run water through it then use the packet of stuff when your done. I was a bit more picky on clean up but I plan and will use this for many years. I would plan on buying more paint than you need simply because it does use a bit to fill the hose when priming, but you also pump it back in can when your done. March 12, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great sprayer! For the price this sprayer worked great. I used it to paint a patio pergola (a daunting task) and it made it a breeze. A lot of prep time (weeks) went into preparing the pergola because it was in really bad shape, so I was nervous of the time it would take to paint. But as soon as we started painting it only took a couple of hours. The paint was applied thick enough to cover various textures with a generous coat. The sprayer was also easy enough to use to be able to manevour the various surfaces (all sides of slats and posts). I did use a brush over the paint applied by the sprayer in some areas where the wood was damaged to ensure it got deposited into deep crevices, but even that was easier with the paint already there. Although there was some manual intervention the job was significantly easier and time reduced using the sprayer. Next job is a fence, which I'm sure will be easy and quick due to the flat surface. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic Sprayer Lightweight, good power with low current draw: 1/2HP yielding 0.24gpm at 2000 psi. It is a champ. No problem spraying unthinned masonry paint or thick acrylic exterior paint with supplied 515 tip. With the 7 by the "G" brand, would have required a 517 to get a filled pattern. However, I will warn you that the first one I purchased had a bad gun, blew out tip twice AND didn't seal well so paint drooled all over the place, probably wasted 15% of what actually made it to wall. Thankfully, met a Milwaukee rep in a HD parking lot, learned that since it was less than 90 days old, could return to HD. So the rated one is the reorder. February 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great tool !! I am a General Contractor and very picky with my work. This tool works great. stick the paint tube in paint, switch lever to prime, leave it running on prime for about a minute and its ready to paint. I painted a 16' x 32' ceiling in about 20 minutes and another day i painted the walls in about 20 minutes. keep your hands moving fast to avoid runs. I would give this tool an A+ rating. works as good as any other brand. I will also be buying the wheeled model of this version because it makes for easier clean up and transport. Be sure to clean the entire system before paint dries and use cleaner or lube such as Graco pump armor after every use to prevent rust and damage.. May 16, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Paint Sprayer I purchased the airless paint sprayer to restore some old painted cabinets. The instructions for the sprayer almost made me worry that it might be a bit complicated but once I actually used the machine it proved to be much easier. It is compact and sturdy with no need for a separate air storage area to build up pressure to spray the paint evenly. It is pretty easy to clean as well if you connect it to a garden hose and spray it into a spare waste bucket. Great Job Milwaukee. December 30, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by It was a mistake not reading all of the reviews. I purchased this sprayer to cut my painting time on the interior of a home we purchased but spent more time trying to keep it working than what it would have taken to roll the paint. The sprayer lost prime over and over again. I tried thinning the paint but no help. I decided to call it a day and sat down to clean the sprayer. Some how I lost the rubber seat for the spray tip and had to order a replacement. April 19, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by sprayer works great! The airless paint sprayer works great. The only issue I see is making the pressure knob clearer. While trying it out on scrap boards I thought it was on full spray pressure. The paint came out with heavy lines within the fan. At first I thought something was wrong with the sprayer, but the knob just needed to go the other way. Thankfully I figured it out before doing my big exterior house job. I did go ahead and get another sprayer tip for this job. I had no trouble painting an entire exterior house. The sprayer did the job and it cleans up well. September 25, 2014
