I am in the market to purchase a new Milwaukee multi-meter. I would like to know the difference between the Milwaukee Model #2216-20 and the Milwaukee Model #2217-20. I see there is a big difference in price between the two of them. I have not found what the differences are between both models to cause the difference in the price. Can you please explain to me what I am buying?

Answer:
The biggest difference between these two unit is that 2217-20 will have a white on black LCD screen which will increase visibility in outdoor and indoor use. This unit will also have Lo-Z measurement which will eliminate ghost voltage making the instrument more accurate.

Answer:
The 2217-20 has Lo-Z Voltage Measurement which eliminates “ghost” voltage and measures Amperage down to milliamps. The 2216-20 does not have these functions along with a different LCD display.

Digital Multimeter is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Multimeter No diode test function, and measures capacitors up to 1000uF only. Rubber overmold is completely wearing off after very light use!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from easy to use and reliable readings I saw this product a few times at the local home depot (say a few because if my wife finds how many times I go there I am dead...), at first found it to be bulky but when I got mine, it fits right into my hand; the rubber boot protects from slidding on metal suraces, it gets readings pretty fast (good refresh rate) and for voltages bellow 10vdc displays an extra digit. I compared it to my fluke ad it is pretty much on the spot, ac and dc readings. The only down size is lack of micro amps (for electronics and HAVC). Continuity test is fast and not scratchy, capacitancy is also fast and within 0.02 from Fluke. Overall I am very happy with my meter. Good work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EXCELLENT Multimeter!! This Milwaukee Digital multimeter is awesome! It has everything that we need in a meter as homeowners and DIYers ..and more. We have used cheaper meters in the past mainly to check electrical connections and battery levels, but they are no comparison to this one. The readings on this meter are so much more accurate and reliable. There are many features that make it worth the price - just a few that impressed me are: -A great large, easy to read display with optional backlight -Comfortable, rubberized grip -Auto ranging that makes it so easy to operate -Bar graph (which updates much faster than the digital display) -Flip-up stand in the back so it can stand upright -Rubber lead holders on the back, leads are about 4' with 90 degree plugs and protective covers -Strong audible signal -Automatic shut-off after 20 minutes -A 5 year warranty Although I am not an expert in this area, the instruction manual explains the multimeter operation in detail. I also like that they included the 2 AA batteries in the package - and a stick-on screen protector!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT FOR THE PRICE Solid performer in most aspect for trouble shooting with TRMS or True RMS. It delivers accruracy unmatched by any averaging meter. If it doesn't say TRMS you could be asking for trouble. Readings can be as far off as 40%. but with TRMS only 2-3% with this meter. Despite its capabilities, it isn't heavy and like the black bumpers. Size is smaller then some competitors. Worth every penny if you need it for a living like most looking at such a meter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If you can measure it, you can fix it! How many times have you been in this situation. Something's not working and you can't figure out what's wrong. There are so many issues that come up with electrical components in the home that are difficult to diagnose. You wind up wasting time trying to replace different components. A digital multimeter comes in very handy. Sprinkler system not working? Oh the transformer isn't putting out the right amount of current anymore. Clothes dryer not working, after a few minutes of testing it's a bad motor. Cordless power tool not working? The battery isn't holding a charge. Weird response from a plugged in electrical component? Ah the outlet's not properly grounded. That's just a small sample of what a multimeter can help you do. Fixing things becomes faster and easier when you can accurately tell what is wrong. A multimeter helps you do that. This Milwaukee Digital Multimeter is rugged, accurate and easy to use. The digital display is bright and has large numbers and a digital bar display over the numbers to give you even faster response. The backlight can be turned off or on with a push button. The display shows black numbers on a white background which is easy to read. All the functions on the meter are slectable with a single dial. Volts AC, Volts, DC, Amps AC, Amps DC, Resistance (Ohms), Capacitance, Frequency and continuity, They're also all auto ranging which means you don't have fiddle with range settings. The case is a sturdy plastic with rubber overmold for better grip and some protection. This multimeter has the high quality you would expect from Milwaukee. I've used it on a number of projects and it has performed flawlessly, and helped me save a lot of time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for the price I had a $600 snapon one that burnt out and bought this as a replacement. Works just as good as the snapon one with the same features and best of all it's a lot cheaper.
