Heavy Duty Job-Site Radio is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 229.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome jobsite/workshop radio After carefully considering the other jobsite radios, I decided to go with the Milwaukee because the price was right and it has a USB plug. I can't be happier. This radio sounds like a home stereo system, the deep bass and crystal clear treble makes this unit sound like an expensive system. Athough it lacks the spare AC outlets, so what? I'm not going to use those anyway, they're more of a bragging option than anything else. One thing I'd like to point out is the new unit does not have a 12v plug on the back. Instead you get a USB plug inside the large water-tight compartment. Just wanted to point that out, in case you're looking for a 12v plug.

I work in commercial construction but mine is a garage radio that occasionally finds itself on a beach, camping, at someone’s patio party, or anywhere I want to take some decent sounding tunes. I’ve seen plenty of these on job sites and I always laugh to myself when I see how beat up those units are compared to mine, pampered on its garage shelf. The unit is sturdy and well made. I’ve dropped mine a couple of times (not off a 22ft lift, if you’ve read that one star review) and I’ve never had any problems. My only complaint is the location of the USB charging port and the 1/8” audio jack location within the storage compartment. That could have been engineered a little better. If you discredit all of the DeWalt fan boys or the people who didn’t do the research to know that this radio doesn’t charge batteries; this radio would have very few one star reviews. Blue tooth would be nice but like the battery charging issue; know what you’re buying. P.S. When I bought the radio, I though the bottle opener was a gimmick that would never get used. I was wrong.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Impressed Have had this radio playing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for over 5 years now. It hangs in a dairy barn and is subjected to dust and humid conditions and has performed flawlessly the whole time. Lesser radios fail in these conditions in a little over a year. I'm ordering another one to store on the shelf until I need it. My luck would be that about the time the old one would fail, there'd be a "new and improved" version that would be anything but.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from quality radio! Bought this radio for landscape and construction work. This radio rides in the truck/bed of the truck every day. The sound quality easilly beats the dewalt and bosch radio. A nice bit of information, we work 10 to 12 hour days, and the radio will last all day on the 18V lithium ion battery, much longer than I expected. The ipod/mp3 compatablity is great, this radio will work with anything that has a normal headphone jack, so any mp3 player, and many phones. the radio is plenty loud and the bass and trebble are both very clear. a great product, would recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutly Love It! I bought one of these in my first few months when I got this job almost a year and a half ago. I work at a CNC Machining company so it can get very loud in there at anytime. Every day it has played and charged my phone at almost its max volume for 8-12 hours a day and I have NEVER had a single problem with it. With all the abuse it had gone through from being dropped several times, metal shavings, small amounts of water(mostly rain), and all day use in the garage and outdoors. I absolutely love this and I have actually bought three of them since my first one, the other two being gifts. There are only two things that I did not like about it and one of them is that it cannot charge the battery pack while it is plugged in so you have to buy a charger for them as well and that there is no remote.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great Radio..For the first 1 1/2 yrs This was an outstanding radio for the first year and a half. I decided to purchase this after a good amount of research and trust in Milwaukee products. Guess that didnt work out in the long run. The radio worked great for days at the beach, or on the various jobsites. The bottle opener was a selling point to many friends. But about 3 months ago the unit stopped powering up. Neither a battery nor plug work. It worked fine the day before, while being used indoors. It's frustrating that the warranty from everything i've seen is only a year on them. In the end I just want the radio back up and running, and not repair costs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It Pretty Much Rocks. I have the Milwaukee M18 set, so it was only natural I received this as a Father's Day gift last year. I wasn't expecting a lot from it sound wise considering it is what it is (a job-site radio). However, I was blown away when I got to first enjoy it that evening with the family at a nearby drive-in theater. During Madagascar 3 I was certain the low end I was hearing was coming from a neighboring vehicle with a sound system, but I was extremely surprised when I muted it and no longer heard the bass. I can honestly say I have never heard a portable, non-jobsite radio sound this good. Listening to music on this bad boy during jobs is a real pleasure as everything sound wise is fairly accurate, from lows to highs. Everyone else is as blown away by it as I was when I first enjoyed it. Aside from looks it is hard to believe it is a jobsite radio. Plus, Milwaukee built this radio like a tank and has durable aluminum handles on all sides, makes lugging it around not too shabby. The locking waterproof/dust-proof battery and auxiliary compartment has come in handy when using it with my android phone many times, especially when sanding drywall or during an unexpected rain storm when working outdoors. Cons: It doesn't charge my battery packs, but it doesn't claim to and at its price-point I don't expect it to. The antenna can be a bit weak for distant radio stations, but if using with MP3 player or other-device no big whoop. My only real issue is that the USB charging capability is weak at 500mA max output (same as a computer). Meaning if your using your phone to play streaming music (Pandora, iHeartradio, etc.), it's just enough to keep your device alive but that's about it. Other Thoughts: I wouldn't give this bad dude up for another brand at all. Although I would upgrade to another Milwaukee if they incorporated a battery charging capability and updated the USB charging option to 1mA or higher. Otherwise, it's near perfect. If your considering making the purchase, I wouldn't hesitate for a second on buying it if I had to. Hands down the best Father's Day gift that I have ever received.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from But this. Buy two. Runs all day on my M18 battery, and is clear and loud. (You can absolutely crank this thing, and hear it no problem from far away.) I play music from my cell phone, and use it while working or camping. (If you play with your music device EQ, this thing can sound amazing for the speaker size.) Simple design, easy layout, idiot proof. My only gripe is with the USB power outlet location being close to the audio jack. It interferes with the audio jack cable, but that's where you just use a 90 degree audio cable instead. I think it comes with the cable. It would be nice if it had a remote control for volume, but no big deal.
