No battery is included but it accepts everything from 12v up to the 24v. I bought the m12 screw driver kit just for the batteries and charger to power the radio. So for 200 bucks I got 2 lithium batteries, a radio, powered screw driver and a m12 lithium charger.

Heavy Duty Job-Site Radio is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 229.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome jobsite/workshop radio After carefully considering the other jobsite radios, I decided to go with the Milwaukee because the price was right and it has a USB plug. I can't be happier. This radio sounds like a home stereo system, the deep bass and crystal clear treble makes this unit sound like an expensive system. Athough it lacks the spare AC outlets, so what? I'm not going to use those anyway, they're more of a bragging option than anything else. One thing I'd like to point out is the new unit does not have a 12v plug on the back. Instead you get a USB plug inside the large water-tight compartment. Just wanted to point that out, in case you're looking for a 12v plug.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from But this. Buy two. Runs all day on my M18 battery, and is clear and loud. (You can absolutely crank this thing, and hear it no problem from far away.) I play music from my cell phone, and use it while working or camping. (If you play with your music device EQ, this thing can sound amazing for the speaker size.) Simple design, easy layout, idiot proof. My only gripe is with the USB power outlet location being close to the audio jack. It interferes with the audio jack cable, but that's where you just use a 90 degree audio cable instead. I think it comes with the cable. It would be nice if it had a remote control for volume, but no big deal.

I work in commercial construction but mine is a garage radio that occasionally finds itself on a beach, camping, at someone’s patio party, or anywhere I want to take some decent sounding tunes. I’ve seen plenty of these on job sites and I always laugh to myself when I see how beat up those units are compared to mine, pampered on its garage shelf. The unit is sturdy and well made. I’ve dropped mine a couple of times (not off a 22ft lift, if you’ve read that one star review) and I’ve never had any problems. My only complaint is the location of the USB charging port and the 1/8” audio jack location within the storage compartment. That could have been engineered a little better. If you discredit all of the DeWalt fan boys or the people who didn’t do the research to know that this radio doesn’t charge batteries; this radio would have very few one star reviews. Blue tooth would be nice but like the battery charging issue; know what you’re buying. P.S. When I bought the radio, I though the bottle opener was a gimmick that would never get used. I was wrong.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Doesn't charge m18 battery I really like this radio. However it has never been able to charge my m18 batteries.(which is the main reason I bought this radio.)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from How tough is it? I used this radio for 2 years then dropped it off my lift extended up 22ft, it didnt survive.
Date published: 2016-06-26
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Impressed Have had this radio playing 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for over 5 years now. It hangs in a dairy barn and is subjected to dust and humid conditions and has performed flawlessly the whole time. Lesser radios fail in these conditions in a little over a year. I'm ordering another one to store on the shelf until I need it. My luck would be that about the time the old one would fail, there'd be a "new and improved" version that would be anything but.
Date published: 2016-03-31
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good so far Im on the 2nd one the first died after only a year, but it has a 5year warrenty, and the radio was replaced with no isuue. It would be awesome if it would double as a battry charger, and had bluetooth. It seems a little out of date for the tech that is now out now, and over priced for the basic fuctions.
