Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Don Best jacket to have in Minnesota winters
I bought this jacket for my husband for his birthday. Winters in Minnesota can get quite harsh and it is great to wear when clearing snow in sub-zero temps. He loves it. It is something he would not have bought for himself so I treated him to it.

I have no other experience with heated clothes. I bought the hunting version jacket with separate vest. I wanted the vest to wear under other types of jackets. The quality is very good. V.G. zippers. Sewing is tight. Pockets are in good locations. Hood is ample. Size is ample. The battery loads into a battery base holder in its own zipper pocket with two zippers. The battery base is connected to a detachable wire. On the vest inside left breast there is a simple push temp. control. High, medium and low. Push to select. To turn off or on push and hold for three seconds. I have used the heat, on and off, for about 6 hours of hunting from a deer stand, between low and medium and have not used up the battery. I have not kept track of the actually hours but I estimate about 4 use hours. You have to be in very cold weather to put on the high temperature. i do not use the heat when I am walking. I found the secret is to use the low setting if you are on stand for a long time and dress just a bit warmer. This way I know I can up temperature and know I have plenty of battery life. I do not dress light and use the high temperature although some friends do this. Sometimes I put the high temp. on for a little while to warm up and then lower it down. In sub zero temp. of the Adirondacks and if on stand the high temperature helps out. I've used it twice in these low temps and brought along a second battery as back up. These batteries are excellent and I have three ready to go, that power some other battery operated tools. The battery charger does a recharge in short order too. This product is a blend of price and quality which means its a good value. I can not speak for longevity. Do not hesitate to buy this product.

I recieved this jacket as a gift and I am truly impressed. Everyone I show the jacket to wants to take it from me. It is great for the early mornings when it is really cold, or if you work at nights.

I got this jacket as a Christmas gift because I work outside, all day every day. The heat makes my cold days so much more tolerable. The controls are easy to use and since my DROID goes dead 4 times a day the USB charger on the battery is awesome too. My son borrowed my jacket and figured out there is a place for the cords to run on the inside (i thought it was a fake pocket at first) so he could listen and charge his iPod with the jacket. All while having cords safely tucked away and on the inside. The jacket looks good, is well designed and I get a million compliments on it.

I use this on site when doing inspections, nothing sucks your energy than winter inspections in concrete type building sites. It is light enough to be worn under my high vis. vest, even though I bought the red one. It keeps the wind out and is water repellant. A couple of thoughts: - a lighter smaller battery would be great, (it can dig in some times when driving). - a high vis version with reflectors - more pockets - maybe a pack away hood for the rain It will be interesting to see how long it lasts, even if the heater goes I still have a great jacket.
