M12 12-Volt Lithium-Ion Battery is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 47.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for low power-drawing M12 tools The staple, base model battery for all M12. These compact batteries are great for M12 tools that don't draw too much power. Such as the small Bluetooth speaker, screwdriver, drills, lights. Get into the continual running things and they just don't last long enough. The Hackzall, impact driver, multi-tool, etc. draw a lot of power, and, with my brushed Hackzall, you'll only get 20-30 mins of actual use before having to recharge. They charge fast though. For small jobs around the house and property, these are great batteries, especially on sale. Get into the heavier stuff though and you'all need to upgrade to an XC battery or two.

I bought my boyfriend the heated Jacket for Christmas which he LOVES or DID! Well, the battery is supposed to last for 8 hours. Well it only lasted for 6, then 5, then 4, then 3, so we bought another backup battery. That one did the same thing. Today he texted and it only lasted 2.5 hours. He has had the jacket less than a month and the second batter only a week. This is sooooooo disappointing since the jacket is soooooooo AMAZING when you have heat!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from poor battery life after having and using this tool for cabiney work I did not use it for a couple weeks when going back to use it I found the batteries were in need of charging (naturally) after several attempts at recharging charger indicated that batteries were dfective I am still wondering how that could be because last time i used it it worked fine.I am reluctant to buy newbatteries in fear that it may be the charger. If you can help I would really appreciate it. I have enjoyed using the tool and hopefully will enjoy it again soon. Thanks

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Longer run time and re-charges fast I have been using it with M12 drill and Hackzall saw for all sorts of home projects. It certainly gives more run time and re-charges a lot faster but not really sure if it provides some extra speed and torque.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Milwaukee 48-11-2401 12-Volt Li-Ion Battery Failure Fix 1) Value of driver is 4 stars. 2) Value of batteries is 2 stars. I purchased the driver & after about 2 yrs of occasional use (~100 hrs), both batteries failed to charge within 30 days of one another. I googled '48-11-2401 Reviews' and found one very useful. The owner had the very same problem & was able to fix it without buying new batteries. He had a kit that included a flashlight. He used the flashlight to drain the battery. He then plugged the battery into the charger & it recharged as normal. I gave it a try by putting a low battery in the driver & using a twist tie on the trigger to keep it running. After switching itself off, I plugged the battery into the charger and it charged as normal. I am happy to report the both batteries have taken 2 full charges each since [2+ mos ago] and I have not yet had to shell out $70-$80 for 2 new batteries. Had the battery recovery not worked, I'd probably trash the Milwaukee driver and returned to my dependable corded drill.
