The Milwaukee Cordless Impact Driver is amazing! It is lightweight, requires very little pressure to drive a screw in, has a light that shines on the screw for darker corners or for working in low light (see photo), awesome clip to keep it right at your side, recharges the battery quickly, battery stays charged for a very long time, comes with two 12v batteries which allows one to fully charge long before you need it, battery level indicator on side of driver (see photo), has a quick bit release, keeps the bit tight into the deck screw head which prevents slipping and striping, and is a small size for easier portability.
I am a small woman. It is difficult for me to use a heavy drill to drive in screws because I have to put so much of my body weight into the drill to keep the bit from slipping. This becomes almost impossible when working on projects above my head or at odd angles. With the Milwaukee Cordless Impact Driver, I was able to repair my deck with ease. My hands, shoulders, and lower back usually hurt after drilling so much, but I feel great!!
I decided to give the Milwakee Cordless Impact Driver a test. With close supervision, I had my five year old drive a 3 inch screws into a couple 2x4. He was able to do it easily.
The only downside is the noise of the impact driver. It is fine if you are working during the day. If you have grumpy neighbors or a sleeping baby then I don’t suggest using the driver at night.

This is a good compact driver. It is lightweight and compact. It handles well and has just enough power for a variety of light duty tasks.
The big selling point is that it is light and compact. You don't get the power of the 18V+ class. Not even close. Basically, this drill is not for construction, demo, and more advanced tasks. It is for the light-duty, DIY-er that needs to do some light work once every other weekend.
The standard batteries, in general, are not very good. However, for this tool, you get a decent amount of use per charge. The standard charger is good. Chargers the standard battery pretty quick.

This is a great small impact gun, not bulky, I work doing HVAC work, from rooftop units to air handlers in Attics, all held together with 1/4" and 5/16" sheet metal screws. Normally a big old impact gun dosen't fit into these small spaces, but this small compact m12 impact gun will, fits great Into a tool pouch, sometimes you don't always need an 18 volt impact.

Milwaukee sub-compact drills are soo small I almost always carry 2 of them, to save time switching between drilling and driving. @1000lbs. torque it doesn't really need more than trigger control, and for the sensitive driving operations I use the 2401-20 1/4 hex compact driver, which has a clutch and only 500rpm and 175 lbs. of torque.
This impact driver has the proper torque to do anything without destroying fasteners and bits, without need for a selector switch.
If I need more power, I will use a larger, higher voltage drill, with 1600 lbs of torque. I went in to get the"Fuel" impact, saw this one on sale for $80 and got it instead. It has exceeded my expectations, the ones I had for the "Fuel"! I love Milwaukee tools addictively, so I may still get that one, but not because I need it, this one does it all. My first use of this kit was driving 6", 3/8th diameter lags into solid timber with no pre-drilling, just yesterday, for a pan tilt camera mount, and let me just say....!!!! Yowza! The 2462-20 Impact driver is pretty quiet, relative to other impacts I've used, and it's really solid and freaky light, and freaky powerful. The collet must be pulled out for both placing and releasing bits, the only negative feature, say compared to the fuel or even the somewhat venerable 2401-20, which feature auto-load collets that really do work perfectly, just insert the bit and it locks automatically.
So that may be a factor for another user looking for a do- it- all drill.
But for me, it isn't a problem because I use the Milwaukee 2401-20 at the same time. It's tough to beat two drills, especially when they are toy sized and monster strong.. This is the world's#2 most Awesome sub-compact impact driver, beaten only by the new fuel version, Milwaukee tools are the best! I am a carpenter- handyman, so I use this impact and the 2401-20 compact driver daily to rapidly assemble
various fabrications made of wood, like cabinets, decks and fences.

I was totally impressed with the 12 volt Milwaukee impact gun. I put up 75 Feet of fence using the tool right out of the box. I placed the second battery on the charger and went to work. The impact gun was driving 4 inch golden screws thru treated 2x4 into treated 4x4 with no problem. I was also plesantly supprised by the battery life of the 12 volt system. My buddy had an 18 volt Dewalt and I kept up with him just about board for board. It did take a little longer to drive the screws just due to the power difference in the impact guns. I liked the fact that it didnt weigh as much as the 18 volt and after 6 hours of work, I could still use my hands whereas my buddy couldnt hardly raise his hands. The belt clip kept me from throwing it on the ground or in a bucket. I got a kick out of the light on the impact gun. That is till I lost my car keys and I went along the fence to find them because we worked till dark. I am already looking at other Milwaukee 12 volt tools to go with my driver. I build lots of small items and toys and I find that this tool has all of the power I need to accomplish the job. I have proven to my self and my buddy that it can tackle a 75 foot fence and still kick a 4 inch screw into wood. For a DIY'er this is a great tool, but I would not recommend it for a professional fence builder. The small size will fool you because it does have alot of power. For the money it is fantastic. I have a new respect for Milwaukee tools.

I have only used it few times and so far so good, only thing I wish it had was the torque adjuster. so you can chose the torque you need.
