does it comes with case

Asked by: hoong
No, this M12 Cable Cutter (2472-20) does not include a case however the kit model option 2472-21XC does include a carrying case as well as a M12 REDLITHIUM XC Battery and M18/M12 Multi-Voltage Charger.

Is there a way to lower the set height of the blades?

There is a slight gap between the blades and I can't figure out how to reset them so they cut clean through the wire and I don't have to grab a pair of Kleinmans to finish the cut.

Can it cut armored cable?

Typically you can get through armored cable with side cutters. Curious if these jaws can make a clean cut or if the cable will just get mangled. I'd be very surprised if it couldn't handle the armor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Serious tool Since this is the first review, let me state what you don't see in the pictures or demo video. First off, it has two speeds controlled by a top mounted toggle like any cordless drill you're used to seeing. Second, it cuts in increments which are not so noticeable in second gear. The jaws close a bit and then back off, and so on so as not to over work the tool. Third, this tool has some weight which hasn't bothered me because the tool is so well balanced. Typically when cutting heavy gauge wire I used a $15 pair of bolt cutters but being cheap only gets you so far as bolt cutters don't work on heavily insulated SOOW. They do warn you to not use the tool on anything other than copper or aluminum so I don't think I'll be using this on armored cable anytime soon, we'll save that for the bolt cutters. It's a great tool and such a value when compared to the M18 model that runs four times as much, save that tool for the line men.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This Cutter Is Horrible My company purchased a few of these cutters for the linemen to use and they are horrible. The quality of these cutters is not good at all and they don't seem very powerful. We use our tools in some tough conditions and I just don't see how these are going to hold up over time. Sure, they are less expensive than others on the market, but when they don't end up lasting and we have to continue to buy new ones the price is going to become much more. I wouldn't recommend these cutters.
