Customer Questions & Answers

Will this saw work as a tree pruner when a clipper pruner is not strong enough ??

Asked by: Anonymous
It will work sufficiently, though less than ideal. Using the proper blade will help.

1 or 2 batteries?

Asked by: Anonymous
Not sure what your question is. The saw comes with 1 (one) battery. I would recommend buying an extra battery and having it charged before your start a job.

on-line specs state .75" stroke on the 12V Hackzall , manual says 1/2", which is it?

Asked by: Anonymous
I've used it for about a month and never actually measured, but t stroke seems in between those two numbers. I'm sure it's at least a half inch, and suspect more like 5/8 but not quite 3/4.

It look interesting and I had intended to use it for small jobs such as cutting PVC or other small projects. I had the tool less that a week and was using it to cut roots at tubing for a sump pump system. I believe the tool is a valuable part of a homeowners cordless tools and would strongly recommend buying the tool for the home.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but not perfect Love this tool for its size and convenience... very light weight and easy to use. But, my little wonder seized up after a recent plumbing job likely from a few drips of water running down the blade into the internal parts. Keep it dry and you'll live it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ups And Downs As a finish carpenter/ and framer for a city contractor, i believe this saw should be used for only convenience then anything, i would not recommend for everyday use but only when needed. For example , i was hanging gutters and needed to cut off some length for end caps, with the torch multimaterial blade it was able to cut the metal in 5 seconds with a full battery charge, i use it about 10 times or less out of the month, battery dies really quick if you are cutting into hard lumber for extended times

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Compact Hackzall This is my fifth sawzall-type reciprocatig saw. The small size means you can carry it in your tool bucket or tool bag so you're more likely to have it with you. I installed some floor ducts yesterday and it did the job OK, but my arms really got a workout from this light-weight tool vibrating a lot. I went through three batteries carving out two duct holes in 3/4" plywood. When I switched over to a heavy full size 18v Hitachi sawzall, the shear mass of the bigger tool was much more comfortable and smoother to operate and control. Last month I was carving notches in logs with my corded full-size Milwaukee sawzall all day long. No problem. I still like the small Hackzall for it's convenience and portability but be aware that it doesn't replace a full size reciprocating saw. It's also convenient for finishing inside corner circular saw cuts. It definitely has its uses.

If you want a tough tool with GREAT battery life, any of the Milwaukee battery tools will get the job done! I have 41 mechanics working on Diesel Trucks (class 8) and these tools are as tough and the MACK trucks we sell and service! ALL 41 mechanics have a battery tool from Milwaukee most of them are m-12 or m-18. Well worth the money simply due to battery life, no swapping these batteries all day they can handle it working on the roughest equipment in the world, they can handle yours too! Great job guys!
