I've used many reciprocating saws from Milwaukee, Dewalt, Makita and Rigid... Cordless and with cords. Nothing really compares to the power of a corded saw and no down time for swapping batteries to charge up, but for those quick or hard to reach places this one handed tool is one of the most powerful assets to my arsenal of tools. With batteries that fit in your pocket, keeping the spare charged up constantly is a must if you have a lot of cutting to do- battery dies withing 10-15 minutes of non-stop usage. Overall its a great tool, I've been using the Torch blades, cuts through anything with the right blade. And you can't forget about the HARD CASE! A must have for the best protection with any investment.

Very light, one hand operation. Used initially for cutting scrap firewood for kindling. Bought the nine inch blade which cut thru like butter.

Purchased mine when they were considerably less expensive, but have been very impressed. Great power and blade speed; rarely bogs down. The single hand use is a blesing compared to my 2-handed Dewalt, but this one does have a problem getting started in hard materials like pipe, since you don't have a second hand to steady / push it, will dance until the blade takes a bite. Battery lasts long; however the battery meter in handle isn't as helpful as advertising says; indicates full charge up until 2 seconds before tool quits. Battery swap out is quick, and I easily keep a spare in a baggie in my pocket.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Free88 Lightweight and Compact
This is a good compact saw. It is lightweight and compact. It handles well and has just enough power for a variety of light duty tasks.
The big selling point is that it is light and compact. You don't get the power of the 18V+ class. Not even close. Its ok for cutting low-density woods, small diameter pipe, etc. It is for the light-duty, DIY-er that needs to do some light work once every other weekend.
The standard batteries, in general, are not very good. In this tool, you get very little runtime per charge. The thin kerf blades help a little, but still not good enough. I recommend the 3.0AH batteries or greater for this one. The standard charger is good. Chargers the standard battery pretty quick.

I love this little sawzall. I have used it daily to cut conduit. It fits in small spaces and makes my job so much easier. It cuts conduit and wood like a hot knife through butter. Before I bought this sawzall I was using a hand saw and it was a pain. My 18 volt DeWalt is too big for most spaces I work in. I do recommend getting two batteries. They last a long time but take a while to charge. LED light is a nice feature. No need for a flashlight in dark areas. Comes with 3 inch blades but I went for the 6 inch ones. Works great, seems to be well built and comes with a five year warranty. Can't beat that.

This is an incredible little workhorse! I bought it for my wife to compliment her Milwaukee M12 Cordless drill that she loves. We are very impressed with it's quality and Home Depot's attractive pricing and speedy delivery.

The only thing with this is that the batteries die kind of quick but overall a great buy.
