Great tool. I bought the "Tool Only" version because i already have other M12 products with batteries and a charger. It is lightweight, but powerful and effective for its size. Great tool for the everyday DIY'er.
Can use all types of sawzall blades.
Home Depot shipping is great too! Wasn't available as "Tool Only" in the store, so i ordered it online and it showed up 1 day ahead of the originally scheduled delivery date.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Faisal Very handy tool
This tool has performed in my various home projects and has really impressed me. I’ve used it to cut hardwood, PVC, wire mold, card board, fiber glass etc. It’s conveniently sized. Battery power indicator and LED are really handy. Pressing the trigger is directly proportional to the speed and that’s how you control it. Changing blades work like plug-n-play and requires no tools. Keep in mind that this is TOOL ONLY; you still have to buy a battery for it unless you already have one. Battery will not come with the charger, so if you buy the battery then you have to buy the charger too. I would recommend buying Tool & Battery as a kit and save some money.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bill Hacksall poor quality bearings
The poor quality bearings are seizing up in just around a years time. 2 different tools same problem. To replace the bearing one has to order the complete motor at the cost of $25. For a home owner DIY with real light use it would be great. For a contractor with light to medium use I would not recommend . The small size and power seems great. One of the 12 volt batteries has already failed in less than 2 months time.
I think Milwaukee needs help on their 12 volt and 18 volt lithium batteries . Fully charged batteries lose 75% of their charge due to cold. "The old style nicads although bulkier hold up way better"

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by PJCC Ez Twist Change Blade and Comfortable Grip Hackzall
I've a hope chest of 3rd generation old tools. Receiving this modern version of a Reciprocating saw was a blast!
I've spent hours looking for the right tool to put a blade on an old reciprocating saw. I'm having fun just using a couple of fingers to twist a knob with the Quik-Lok blade clamp.
The grip is small enough for a woman, with rubber to make it easy to control.
This isn't a tool I've used often. I've never had one I could grip and control. I'm looking forward to learning new things to do with it besides basic wood cutting.
This Hackzall can be bought as an add on to the 12 Volt Red Lithium Ion Tools with Battery Kits, like the Brushless Drill. They come with an extra battery so both tools can be used in one project.
Lastly, if you didn't notice in the specs, this has a 5,
Five year warranty!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by austinlightpollution Best combo for the DIY
Here is another tested; great product. Ordered online from homedepot this kit comes with an M12 saws all and a mini hammer driver combo A good starter for that Diy and also young teens learning power tools
I've enjoyed this pair. And give it a honest A plus for the voltage class that each are in.
Things I'v cut with saws all are cutting off sharp metal ends to cutting small branches for pruning and thining also cutting pallets up. With the driver I've used for smaller jobs and quick fixes and adjusting screws and general repair. Both are quality tools from Milwaukee.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by jswobe Well made tools, light to medium to duty at best
This is a decent set, and the typical Milwaukee quality is evident in both tools. It comes with the two tools, two chargers and three batteries. The batteries are lithium ion, so they charge fast and they hold their charge when not in use. The batteries charge in less than 30 minutes, easily.
The driver is good. It has a 3/8" adjustable chuck, good for using bits with different size shanks. There is an adjustable torque dial for controlling the driving torque. It's not my best driver, but it's adequate. On drivers of this size, I prefer a simple, 1/4" slip shank collette for quick change of bits. The adjustable chuck on this suggests the ability to handle larger diameter bits for more work, but it doesn't really have the power for much heavier duty work. There is a row of LEDs on the side to indicate level of battery charge, which I like.
The "Hack-zall" is not that great. It's decent for cutting small diameter PVC conduit and maybe some quick rough cuts around your shop, but not much else. I used it to demo some wood scraps and a pallette, and it lasted for about ten minutes per battery. The stroke is only half an inch, so it was a lot of work trying to cut through anything of size. I have it in the garage right now, and I use it to cut up wood sometimes for the firepit...but anything of decent size requires something bigger. It's a light duty tool.
The kit comes with a case for the driver and a soft side tool bag for the Hack-Zall. I find it convenient to keep both tools, one charger, all the batteries and any accessories in the toolbag. It keeps it well organized.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by BalooBear Seems to be a design flaw.
I pick up this drill to use it, pull the trigger, and .......nothing. Then I push the battery in and the drill works. It seems that the battery connection system is flawed and is not holding the battery in tight enough.

I love these 2 battery operated compact tools so much that I bought a set for my brother. He repairs furniture and says he can now get into areas with the drill that he couldn't, using his regular sized battery operated drill. He couldn't say enough good things about the hackzall either.
Both tools are heavier than they look. Definitely quality made. A rough and fine blade, 3" long, comes with the hackzall. It also comes with a canvas carry bag and the drill/driver comes in a hard plastic case. Both tools came with a 12 volt battery & charger and there is an extra battery included in the set. There is a dial on the drill that allow you to set it for drilling as well as a variety of torques, depending on the task you are performing and on what material. The hackzall is very easy to maneuver for a more precise cut, compared to my awkward and heavy electric hack saw. Both tools are equipped with a comfortable rubberized handle to grip.
It's recommended that you run the battery dead on both tools before recharging. The 12 volt battery only takes less than 2 hours to fully charge, compared to 4 - 6 hours on 18 volt tools. I do a lot of small job drilling and cutting and these 2 tools are my go-to-tools. They both are going to get a lot of usage this summer when I replace some deck boards and stairways. You're gonna love em both.
