how do i atach this to a hammer dril

Asked by: Anonymous
The 2306-22 Milwaukee® M12™ HAMMERVAC™ Universal Dust Extractor Kit is compatible with major power tool brands of SDS Plus Rotary Hammers and AC/DC Hammer Drills. 1. You will have the rotary hammer, the Hammervac™ unit as well as the collars and handles. 2. The first step is to figure out which size collar fits on the rotary hammer. There are three different collar sizes and you will figure this out by trial and error. 3. Once you have figured out the correct collar, you will slide the collar onto the rotary hammer with the handle on the opposite side of where you want the Hammervac™ to be. 4. Now you will have the rotary hammer with the correct collar installed and you will be ready to attach it to the Hammervac™. 5. On the side of the Hammervac™ there is an area to attach the handle. You will put the top of the handle in first, followed by putting the bottom part of the Hammervac™ into the collar. 6. Once you have the top and bottom put in properly you will push the lever down which will lock the Hammervac™ into place on the rotary hammer. 7. Now you will insert your desired bit into the rotary hammer, it must be 5/8” or under to function with Hammervac™. 8. Now you will zero out the Hammervac™ to the rotary hammer. You will push in the button on top of the Hammervac™ and pull in the dust tube until the bit is flush with the nozzle which will sit up against the surface which you are drilling into. Once you have it flush you will release the button and the Hammervac will now be zeroed out to the end of the bit. 9. Now you can set the depth of drilling for a consistent hole depth by adjusting the gauge on the side of the dust tube. To do this you push in the button and set the depth gauge to the desired depth. 10. Now the Hammervac™ is installed and ready to be turned on to use. To turn it on, place the switch into Auto mode and it will turn the unit on and off as the tube is pushed in while drilling.

Okay, ill give it 5 stars because it does do a great job of collecting dust. HOWEVER, heres where my nitpicking begins. When im trying to set anchors in a ceiling, its a bit difficult to make sure youre dead on your mark. the combined weight of the drill and vacuum makes it awkward to line up on the hole. ive had to pull back the vacuum head to make sure i had the tip of the drill bit on it and then try to release it while keeping it on the marks. That's only usually when drilling in a ceiling. Doesn't seem to be a problem on walls though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handy Dandy HammerVac perfect little tool for almost all hammer-drills from all manufacturers. OSHA is starting to require air filtration devices on drilling equipment and this is the most compact version on the market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must tool for the pro and diy'r Easy to install on your hammer drill, as a plumber I drill a lot of holes overhead in concrete installing anchors to hang material. After 27 years of dealing with the spoils of drilling dropping down and getting blown all over, this tool elimenates all the dust, contains the dust in a compartment untill you remove and emty the container. With its own hepa filter cleaning the discharged air of any dust. This tool should be manitory on jobsites for health reasons alone
