I challenged the tool right out of the box to help me remove a stubborn outdoor deck bracket with hopelessly frozen mounting screws. As a long time owner of a contractor grade Fein Multi-master corded tool I was curious if this smaller cordless tool could handle this type of application. I mounted a well used Bosch carbide tip metal cutting blade from my Fein Toolbox and secured it for operation using the Milwaukee supplied adapter to fit most blades available from other similar tools. I was able to cleanly and quickly slice through the metal screws and remove the bracket without needing to drag out an extension cord. While the M12 is not for heavy duty use such as all day cutting jobs or those that require cutting heavy metal, this M12 tool is winner and a real value that belongs in DiYer's and homeowners toolboxes.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by me Pretty good tool
This tool is pretty good. I honestly thought it would cut through wood, especially mdf, quicker than it actually did. It was probably just the stock blade that came with it though. It is pretty loud, but it ramps up after a few seconds of turning it on. That should protect the motor from constant starting and stopping. I like the ability to rotate the blade so you can cut in different directions depending on space requirements. All in all, pretty good buy, especially for under $80

I bought a corded unit a couple of years ago for a project at my son's house. Ever since, I have wanted a multi-tool in my bag and choose the cordless unit for versality and convenience. I put it through a pretty tough initiation in cutting into ductwork to install a humidifier in my daughter`s house. I attempted the same job some time ago at my mother's and swore I would never attempt to do so again with metal snippers and hack saw! The tool is great, wish the blades werent so pricey!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by rsa619 It DOES exist!
I always knew a tool like this had to exist. This tool is worth the money and its easy to use. In our brewery we use Type L up to 1" and this tool made fast clean cuts to lines spaced 1-1/2" apart. We use 1-5/8" deep strut to secure utilities and this tool was able to bite and cut secured lines, that is a HUGE time saver for me.
The only time it ever jammed on me was when it encountered a blob of solder. other than that, it never gave me any grief.

I've used the drill in the past to drill a pilot hole, then swap the drill bit with the screw driver bit. This tool eliminates the need for a pilot hole. I have several M12 tools and pleased with them.

If you're already invested in the M12 system, this is a no brainer. Great multi-tool. Works as described, and feels solid in the hand. Feels exactly like the porter cable 12V oscillating tool that I've used before, but unfortunately this Milwaukee uses the old allen-wrench method to change blades/attachments instead of a quick-change spring chuck (like on other oscillating tools), but this is really the only drawback. M12 batteries lasted longer than the Porter Cable 12V when I was cutting door jams and sills. Included sanding pads, a wood cutting blade, allen wrench, and universal blade adapter. Do yourself a favor and buy some good blades, if you plan on cutting wood. The one they throw in didn't last long, but the hardened Bosch blades are going strong.

I have used this impact 4 different times and have had it for about two weeks. The very first time, I was not impressed at all. The bolts I had tightened with the impact, were still fairly easy to torque further with a ratchet and socket. Now, it already has something broken free inside and rolling around. Also, the forward and reverse slide switch is jammed. I plan on returning this item for my money back. I would not want another impact of this same model.
