Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Faisal Excellent quality. Battery lasts quite a while.
Already used for several masonry projects. Then got distracted and got my metal drill bits out - made a bunch of brackets for the bed of my truck. I have about 4 hours of use on the battery, doesn't even seem to be low. Very happy with the M12 system too - have a vacuum cleaner for the truck too.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Cisco My first big name drill
It was between Milwaukee and Makita , decided to go with the Milwaukee m12 cause it was compact and still packed a punch according to the reviews on here and on youtube. Bought mine from the store was excited to use the next morning ,charged up bother batteries before I went to bed, woke up the next morning opened up the case slide in the battery and only drilled two holes in some 2x4 's and it started to get hot after two holes, then I noticed in second gear when barely pressing the trigger it sound like the clutch was slipping the chuck wouldn't even spin it did this only in second gear not to metion the chuck will come loose even after tightening it plus it had a lil wobble to it . So took back the same day the guy home depot looked at me like if I was trying to con home depot or something lol but anyways exchanged it for another one, scared to use second gear , the chuck still wobbles, already had some scratches on the clutch which I don't mind guess I'll wait till the weekend to see how this one performs . Maybe I got a defective one but gave it a three star rating for that reason.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by WeaponizedBacon very impressed!
very pleased with my purchase! drove 3 1/2 and 4" deck screws into treated 2x's for a few hours and drilled two 7/8'' holes thru a 8'' 4x4 end to end using a paddle bit all on one charge using the larger battery with no loss of power and battery still has half the charge left!
easily outperforms my 3 year old 18 volt lithium drill.

Not sold in stores, on-line only!
Glad I did not make an impulse buy at the store.
Came home and did some research on the Home Depot website.
For $179 you get the drill, compact battery and two (2) larger batteries, charger and a nice hard case!
Shipping came one (1) day earlier than estimated which was a nice surprise.
Thanks to Home Depot for selling higher quality tools vs. their blue big box competitor.

Best battery powered drill I've every had, it is a "FUEL"/BRUSHLESS easy on batteries.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JohnBoy M12 Fuel beats Dewalt DC725 18 volt
I originally purchased a Dewalt DC725 18 volt hammer drill from Home Depot to replace a Craftsman 14 volt drill I had had for years and to drill 10 holes in a slab of concrete. I was disappointed in the battery charge of the DC725 that lasted less than 10 minutes under a maximum load trying to push a 1/2" carbide bit 1 1/2" into the concrete slab. After two rounds of recharging the batteries I only had three holes drilled. I returned the DC725 to Home Depot who gave me a full refund with no questions asked and no forms to fill out. Home Depot's return policy is great! I purchased the Milwaukee M12 Fuel hammer drill and, after fully charging the batteries, I had the remaining 7 holes drilled in less than an hour. I had to recharge one of the batteries during the process but the 12 volt M12 definitely has much more "hammer" and longer lasting power with its lithium-ion batteries than the 18 volt Dewalt DC725 that uses NiCad batteries. The weight of the M12 is much lighter and less fatiguing compared to the DC725's 4.9 lbs. and there is a noticeable difference in the "hammer" power of the M12 compared to the DC725.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by NCDIYer Best purchase I almost didn't make
I almost didn't purchase this drill because of the comments about size. I was replacing a brushed 12v lithium from another mfg. I went ahead and bought the fuel and I'm glad I did.
This drill is close to the length of an 18v, but I have found it to be better handling than an 18v. This drill will outperform any NiCd powered 18v drill I have used. The brushless motor is not just a marketing hype.
I recently used this to drill a 1 3/8" hole in porcelain tile. I would have normally used an 18v for this, but the M12 was nearby so I decided to give it a try. It turned the bit with authority. The chuck held the bit without slipping despite the bit not having any flat spots. I have used the hammer function to drill 1/4" holes for anchors in brick and plaster. It is very fast and doesn't make your hand numb like some others I've used.
I wasn't blown away when I first purchased this drill. I have found after using it for a couple months it has far exceeded my expectations. I find myself reaching for this drill first and only using my 18v when I need to bore large holes. The grip feels comfortable in my hand and I like the option to use a compact or extended runtime battery. If you need a sub compact drill for you application make sure the length won't be a problem. If you are looking for an quick handling drill that has enough power you won't find yourself constantly going to fetch an 18v, the 2404 is a great choice.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MikeD Great Drill!
This is a great drill to have in your toolbox. It's powerful for its size and will handle a lot. It's small enough so that it doesn't take up a lot of room in your tool carrier. I'm sold on the brushless drills over the base models, as these seem to be snappier and more powerful. If I had it to do over, I would repurchase this drill without a thought to it!
