It probably wasn't selling well enough in this particular kit form in those stores, according to whatever formula they use to determine such things.

Answer:
It's the KIT NUMBER... and the HAMMER DRILL number is: 2404-20 (2404-22) <---- is the kit number; this could be because it has a charger and a battery or it has another tool inclused in the kit...

Answer:
The drill you got is model 2404, as the box says. The 22 at the end designates that it is the 2-battery kit.

Electrican Needing a Light Drill

I have been looking at this drill with the hammer feature and the other m12 without. I also have looked at an M18 drill to go with my 2604 which is a heavy duty hammer drill. Sometimes we don't need that much power or weight when we are up and down ladders. Any suggestions?

Answer:
I have a slew of both the M18 and the M12 tools, almost all Fuel. Other than roughing out a house, the M12 stuff does probably 90% of what I need, and I am able to carry all of them in one good-sized bag, batteries and charger included. An M12 tool with a 2.0 battery is going to be a lot less bulky than an M18, though with the 4.0 XC batteries in them, the difference isn't quite as much.

This product is a great lighter weight option when the higher torque drill is not required. The light feature is a good addition when places are dark.

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 57 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by On-line Gem ! Not sold in stores, on-line only! Glad I did not make an impulse buy at the store. Came home and did some research on the Home Depot website. For $179 you get the drill, compact battery and two (2) larger batteries, charger and a nice hard case! Shipping came one (1) day earlier than estimated which was a nice surprise. Thanks to Home Depot for selling higher quality tools vs. their blue big box competitor. July 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Good Quality I love this and all my other milwaukee power tools July 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Powerful and a great value with the extra 4.0 battery A great addition to any tool box. Very versatile, hammer drill, regular drill or screwdriver and with its half inch chuck can handle most any job. Eats concrete and rock for lunch! June 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tons of power, lite weight, long running A great tool. I needed something lighter and smaller to get into hard to get to areas. This tool does it. I was worried it would be under powered. No worries. It has more then enough power for anything I can throw at it. Buy one. June 7, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hammer drill! Quickly made two dozen 3/8 inch, three inch deep holes in the concrete pool deck with the 2.0 battery and still showed half charge. Great value with the extra 4.0 battery included May 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by very impressed! very pleased with my purchase! drove 3 1/2 and 4" deck screws into treated 2x's for a few hours and drilled two 7/8'' holes thru a 8'' 4x4 end to end using a paddle bit all on one charge using the larger battery with no loss of power and battery still has half the charge left! easily outperforms my 3 year old 18 volt lithium drill. highly recommended! January 9, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by NOW my main drill! Best battery powered drill I've every had, it is a "FUEL"/BRUSHLESS easy on batteries. June 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by M12 Fuel beats Dewalt DC725 18 volt I originally purchased a Dewalt DC725 18 volt hammer drill from Home Depot to replace a Craftsman 14 volt drill I had had for years and to drill 10 holes in a slab of concrete. I was disappointed in the battery charge of the DC725 that lasted less than 10 minutes under a maximum load trying to push a 1/2" carbide bit 1 1/2" into the concrete slab. After two rounds of recharging the batteries I only had three holes drilled. I returned the DC725 to Home Depot who gave me a full refund with no questions asked and no forms to fill out. Home Depot's return policy is great! I purchased the Milwaukee M12 Fuel hammer drill and, after fully charging the batteries, I had the remaining 7 holes drilled in less than an hour. I had to recharge one of the batteries during the process but the 12 volt M12 definitely has much more "hammer" and longer lasting power with its lithium-ion batteries than the 18 volt Dewalt DC725 that uses NiCad batteries. The weight of the M12 is much lighter and less fatiguing compared to the DC725's 4.9 lbs. and there is a noticeable difference in the "hammer" power of the M12 compared to the DC725. April 9, 2016
