Answer:
it actually has three modes, which are pretty nice. the is a hammer drilling mode, a drilling mode, and a driving mode. the hammer drilling (for masonry) and regular drilling (for studs and what not) mode both work, depending on what you are drilling into. i hope this helps!

I got mine recently. the shipping box contained the regular set (with one 2.0 and one 4.0xc), which can be bought in the store. they added an additional, factory wrapped 4.0xc battery in the shipping container. so you get one 2.0 and two 4.0xc batteries, for a total of three batteries

Answer:
yes they do, with enough room to fit some drill/ driver bits. I prefer the bag myself from my old set. cannot fit my oscilating tool in there as well, but it is close

No, the case will only be able to hold the contents of the original kit. The additional battery will not fit.

How does the M12 Fuel impact driver noise level compared to others?

I know impact drivers are notoriously loud, but since the Milwaukee 2453 impact driver is 12v and not full size 18v along with the fact that it is brushless is it quieter compared to other impact drivers relatively speaking? The "oil" impact drivers by Makita & Ridgid are either too bulky and/or expensive for what you get.

hello, jazzmo!
while the brushless motor is quieter with no load (not driving screws or drilling), it is similar, maybe slightly less loud when driving screws or drilling. I like mikita 18v tools for their power and the amount of options present, but I like the m12 impactor much more due to the light weight (I experience very little hand fatigue due to the Milwaukee's m12 series light weight). this is a concern for me due to arthritic hands, very sore after hanging drywall all daywith a heavy impactor. there are dozens of tools that go with the m12 setup, many that I will never need. they even offer heated jackets and hoodies that run off m12 power, which I plan on investing in.
I would not recommend the ridgid 12v, as they are too weak, but offer a lifetime warranty on the tools, battery and charger. the dewalt, 12v set is weak, has problems with the charger dying, only offer a sawsall and possibly a flashlight for the set). the mikita 12 volt (in the nice silver metal case) (I like the mikita 12v case better than the m12 fuel thermoplastic (unbreakable) case, as you can fit more tools in the Mikita case). mikita 12v impacts are definitely louder than Milwaukee m12 fuel. mikita 12v only offers a flashlight, but is half the price. ($143.32 plus tax)
so budget conscious, go for the mikita. if you use it often like I do, you will be very pleased with the Milwaukee m12 fuel purchase for months or years to come. either way, I would invest in some decent ear protection.
anyways, I hope this helps with your decision, and have a nice day!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best 12v Drill ever owned Replacing M18 for a lighter tool. Power is not a problem, very impressed and satisfied with my purchase. October 25, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Satisfied I already owned a regular m12 kit with 3/8 chuck drill ; I figured it was time for an update. I really like this kit love the fact that it came with an extra xc4 battery! I'm definitely in love with the impact and it's 2 speed the only reason I'm giving a 4 star it's because of the 1/2 chuck hammer drill I thought it would be stronger it locked as I was drilling a hole on a 5/8 drywall with a full xc4. October 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by love the new setup! definitely worth springing for! 3rd set owned. think the upgrades are fantastic! the brushless motors for longer tool life, the adjustable torque/ driving ability for different tasks, the upgraded batteries. fuel tools perform as promised, just don't know if I will upgrade to m18 for heavier duty tasks, specifically the circular saw and saws all. would love any feedback about how these tools perform in the m12 line September 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by best purchase ever this drill/impact is amazing. i use this as an electrician. rather than have the extra weight of 18v on my tool belt i use these. self tapping screws no problem, half inch knock out on a panel no problem, installing one hole straps, mini's, they handle with a breeze. plenty of power. they feel to be made heavy duty. i will be buying more m12 tools for sure. October 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Combo I use it everyday. I love it just the right size and the m12can handle a lot more than you would think. October 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome I've always used 18 v power tools, but these 12 v have surpassed all expectations. Great buy October 4, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Damaged case Every corner of case was damaged when I got it. I didn't want to deal with returning it. September 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Outstanding Product I'm a home do it yourselfer. I got sick of dragging around power chords and I cut the cord on my jigsaw and circular saw. Things I wanted, Drill, Driver, Vacuum, Worklight, Circular Saw, Jigsaw. I've heard nothing but good things about Milwaukee. There are so many good brands out there. For me, it came down to what met my needs. I tried the M12 tools at the sample counter and Home Depot. Wow, I couldn't believe the power in the M12 Fuel Hammer drill. Milwaukee is a little bit pricey. However, now is a good time to purchase Milwaukee products. I got a free vacuum with this Drill/Driver set and a 4.0AH battery with the circular saw. I bought the jigsaw and worklight as bare tools. For anybody concerned about not having enough power with the 12 volt tools need not be worried. Go to Home Depot and try them out. The power is incredible, the batteries charge quickly and the 4.0AH battery on the drill/driver lasts all day. If I used my tools everyday and was a Contractor performing heavy tasks, then the M18 would be justified. For the typical DIY'er like myself, the M12 Fuel is more than adequate, has a large tool offering, and everything works great. By the way, the M12 Vacuum is awesome. I have a German Shepard (Shedder) and the Vacuum easily cleans the hair. It has a long extension and I can walk around a suck up hair clumps. Well Done Milwaukee. Thanks for the great products and Thank You Home Depot for adding freebee's with the sets that make the tools affordable. September 22, 2016
