This is more then I was expecting,12 volt battery technology has come a long way and this Rotary hammer is a great tool if you need one.It uses the SDS and SDS+ bits for drilling concrete and it drills holes very quickly.
You have two modes,Hammer drill or straight drill depending on your need. Its light but powerful and outlasts my 18 volt Hammer drill.
Recharge takes an hour but it does come with 2 extended run 4,0 batteries and charger.
Don't let 12 volt fool you this is a work horse and I Highly recommend it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by CMMToolMan Powerful SDS Hammer Drill
This SDS hammer drill packs substantial power into a small package. The batteries are light and small, and fit neatly into the base of the unit forming a stable base to stand the drill on. They have a rubberized edge that keeps to tool where you put it when you set it down.
Converting between standard drilling and hammering requires a simple quarter turn of the side dial. As can be seen in the photo, I purchased the drill bit chuck attachment to make use of all my drill bits. Testing it on a block of 2x4, it ploughed into the wood very effectively, though the motor began to strain as the bit cut deeper into the wood. It's a 12 volt tool, so motor strain driving a heavy bit probably is to be expected.
The tool fits nicely in the hand, and is very light weight. It has a battery charge LED light system on the handle that indicates the charge level of the battery when the trigger is pulled slightly. A nice LED also illuminates to light the work.
Considering the hammering capacity of the tool to break up concrete, I am surprised that it is not equipped with an optional side handle to aid in control with vibration.
The kit includes two lithium ion batteries, a nice charging base and carrying case. I think a basic chisel for breaking up concrete would have been helpful, but probably is not expected for such a specialized tool.
Overall, the quality is superb and performance is excellent.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by GrumpyG Another great Milwalkie M12 Fuel tool.
This little workhorse drills through concrete like a champ. But, the thing I like most is the compact size and weight. It makes drilling into tights spaces easier and keeps me from having sore shoulders when I spend the day having to to overhead work.I highly recommend getting the M12 dust extractor if you are using this product indoors or if you use the hammer several times a week.It adds a couple pounds to the tool but it works well.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Twan awesome tool
i have been in construction for 6+ years now and have used sds drills from dewalt, hilti, etc, etc, etc. This is by far my most favorite sds plus drill to date, i will not give it up. Most tradesmen when they first see the drill think i took it from my kids becasue of how small it is, and tell me that they would refuse to use a "toy" for work. then i start using it and their attitude changes. The owners manual says that it is good for drilling upto 1/2in holes for things like drop in anchors and that is true but if you truly know how to use this tool and let it and the bit do the work and not ry to force it through what ever you are drilling it will do so much more. I have drillied no less than 35+ 1" x 12" holes through precast with it on multiple jobsites in weather from 10 degrees to 100 degrees, dry, raining, snowing and this drill will not quit.

Last few jobs I've worked on, have had no power in the area to use my corded rotary hammer. For being 12v I'm very impressed has plenty of power and the batter life is great.

The size and weight say in this smaller package makes this thing deceiving. Using this was a tremendous surprise. Drilling overhead with this was ALOT easier than using a corded big drill for the drilling. Battery life was quite well for only being a 12V. Battery life will depend largely on size of hole and depth of hole, so the run time can vary. But for locations not near an outlet, or drilling overhead, my larger drills will stay in the tool box. I wish it did have a depth gauge on it, but i'll continue to use tape on the drill bit as I typically do with my hammer drills.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Joshua W So much power in such a small package
This drill is a classic case of "Big things come in small packages". I was thrilled that someone not only finally came out with a cordless SDS Plus drill, but brushless. This thing is just as fast as my corded drill but has the luxury of being cordless and part of the the vastly expanding M12 line of tools. It drills holes for Tap-Cons and other hangers as fast as the corded drills but with 1/3 the weight. It is surprising how little vibration there is and I love that it comes with 2 XC4.0 Batteries. If you are looking to drill anchors and other small holes than this will not disappoint. The Case is perfect, has plenty of storage for your bits and things I haven't figured out what they are for, but Milwaukee is good about making their cases accept accessory boxes and accessories.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Shinypenny Lightweight, Powerful Cordless Rotary Hammer
This is a great specialty tool- especially being cordless. It's lightweight enough to not be too heavy when working above your head, in tight spaces, or with no electrical connections, and it's great to use when you work up high, so you don't have to run an extension cord up a ladder with you.
I've used it for several applications so far, drilling into my stone basement walls to attach electrical conduit, and to secure shelving, and it worked fabulously. I also used it to drill in a concrete slab to set some anchors.
It comes with 2 batteries, with plenty of power for the job, and it has a power meter to show how much power is left in the battery. The batteries take about 30 to 45 minutes to recharge. It uses SDS bits and SDS Plus shanks. It also has an LED worklight.
