Customer Questions & Answers

when will it be a stock item

When will.... M18 18-Volt 3.0 Ah Battery with Multi-Voltage Charger Starter Kit be a shelf stocking item at (ALL) Home Depot stores. It is a good deal as to price, and I feel that it would also generate enough sales "as an extra" for most guys & contractors so it should be readily available as a regular shelf stocking item!

I need to replace my cat no 48-59-1801 charger and get some new batteries. Which charger should I order.

Asked by: je88r88
Hello je88r88, I’m Chris from the Home Depot’s how-to Community. Thank you for your question. Actually, you have made a good value choice, combining both a new compatible charger with a new battery at a low price. Since you also want to get new batteries, this starter kit is what I would buy as well. Just the charger is also available as a stand-alone purchase here, but you lose the discounted battery: I hope this helps, Chris.

Good day, can i use this kit to power up Model # 2620-20 Milwaukee M18 Cordless Sawzall Reciprocating Saw

First I bought Milwaukee 18v drill with charger and 2 Litium batteries. Adittionaly i bought Milwaukee M18 Lithium-Ion cordless sawzall reciprocating saw tool only having in mind to use my drill battery to power up the tool. After discovering that this battery is not applicable for the saw can you recommend which battery to buy and can it be charged with my drill battery charger or i have to by additional charger as well. Is this charger starter kit compatible with saw.
Asked by: Bubba

M18 18-Volt 3.0Ah Battery with Multi-Voltage Charger Starter Kit is rated 3.1 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from chargers are junk these chargers go bad faster than I can buy them-chargers are 6 month or less old-I just ordered 4 more today to replace bad ones on hand

Rated 3 out of 5 by from m18 and m12 multi charger wish it would charge both batteries at the same time. It anly charges 1 batt at a time if 2 batt are in charger 1 is on hold till the other is charged. I dont know why they would make it like that

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good at the start... Had great power to start off with when new, ran forever (I think that the Ah rating may have been understated). However, after about 3 months use, in the same conditions as the other 4 regular (li-ion) batteries i own, it has half the life, and doesn't want to recharge, but will if left on the charger long enough, about 5 or 6 hours. The others, some of which are over a year old, have no memory and continue to run as new. I may have gotten a bad apple, but it seems suspicious to me that the only battery in 5 to have problems is that one, and brand new as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 12v & 18v, Whats not to like? Just wish Milwaukee made a universal charger so we could buy cheaper in OZ as the US version is almost 1/3 the going price here. It would make for more customers and easier manufacturing if they did!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rolls Royce of battery tools This is the by far the best tools you will ever use. The guys at my job ask if I have stock in Milwaukee. I made them by all the 18v tools you sell and got rid of the Dewalt. Now we are buying seconds of everything because guys are fighting over who has the cordless versus the corded. We fix the large container cranes for the largest shipping company in the world and these tools have taken alot of the effort we put in out.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failed on the first day Just trying to charge my 2 new batteries that came with the new Fuel combo. The light is blinking on the charger indicating it is waiting for another bat to finish charging before this one...trouble is, there is only one battery on the charger.
Date published: 2014-04-09
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good in theory not in practise. Good idea in theory however it charges only 1 battery at a time which is quite useless if you run both flat you then have to wait 1-2 hrs for both to be charged.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Almost there Works as described. Worst part about cordless tools is battery management. Have typically 6 cordless tools on a site (all Milwaukee) which means at least two or three chargers on the go. For my deck/concrete/fence jobs need a weather resistant box that can charge and store at least two each m12 m18 batteries consecutively. On the job will get rained and snowed on so something the shape and size of a small tool box would be ideal. Should be able to charge off 20amp 12volt DC as well as AC. Come on Milwaukee engineers!!! Think "inside the box"
