Customer Questions & Answers

does it come with batteries and charger

Asked by: Anonymous
No I had purchased another awesome tool from Milwaukee...the impact tool. A little pricey ($400.00) but it came with 2 (two) XC Lithium 18 volt batteries. I purchased it to do our tire rotations. Great tool, takes lug nuts off like bam! Anyway - I purchased the raw too, (drill only) no batteries no charger. Actually since I got the impact tool w/2 batt, I've purchase multiple 'raw' (only tool) tools from Milwaukee as the batteries are interchangeable. To answer again, it did not come w/Batt or Charger

Whats the difference between Model # 2607-20 and Model # 2602-20

What are the key differences between the M18 18-Volt Lithium-Ion 1/2 in. Cordless Hammer Drill Model # 2607-20 and this model, the M18 18-Volt Lithium-Ion 1/2 in. Cordless Hammer Drill/Driver Model # 2602-20? I see they are both selling for $119 for the tool only but the latter appears to be much harder to come by in Home Depot stores withing a 70 mile radius of my location for some reason. Which model is superior?

Customer Reviews

M18 18-Volt Lithium-Ion 1/2 in. Cordless Hammer Drill/Driver (Tool Only) is rated 3.1 out of 5 by 16.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broken after 3 months I used it every day, mostly 1/2 inch holes in wood, and 4 inch holes in drywal. It worked good enough for the first three months then stopped working after 15 pot lights one day. I called Home Depot, they sent me to Milwaukee. I called Milwaukee they sent me to a local tool repair shop, I called them and they told me to bring the tool in to have it inspected to determine whether they'll send it to Milwaukee for a second inspection to see if it's covered under the warranty. Not even worth my time. TLDR; Tools can't handle any strain and the warranty is all fine print and jumping through hoops to get your tools fixed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beats DeWalt in EVERY way! I've been in construction for 11 years, and have always been a Dewalt man, as is my entire crew. My Dewalt Hammer Drill died, and I found a deal on this Milwaukee too good to pass up. Best tool decision I've made to date. There is NOTHING this drill isn't better at compared to my dewalt. I'm seriously impressed, and after just 5 weeks of service, I plan to replace all my Dewalt with Milwaukee. I test drove the Dewalt equivelent, and they ARE NOT what they used to be, none of the tools seem to be. However, test driving the Milwaukee line has done nothing but put them all on my wish list, and owning one, it didn't fall short of my expectations. Kudos to the engeneering team at Milwaukee, and thank you as well. Many members of my crew have also been as impressed as I have, and several have already bought into the Milwaukee family. I suspect my entire crew will be going Red and Black in the months to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Power when you need it. I was building a false floor in my garage and my 12v Drill/Driver wasn't getting it done drilling holes in the foundation to secure the floor. My local home improvement store had a awesome sale on this unit that I just couldn't say no to and needless to say it is now my go to tool when I need a drill. Not only did it make securing the floor to the foundation easy but the construction of the rest of the floor went much faster. I also love that there seems to be more metal in the construction of this drill than many others that I looked at.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The Chuck(?) Broke After Two Weeks This came with my 6-Piece M18 RedLithium kit, and I was in love...until I tried using a lowly SPADE BIT to drill through some 2x4s. After a wonderful screeching/whirring sound, the drill is now unusable (my guess is a broken chuck)...after only 2 weeks! I am going to save my final jusgement until I get it fixed (hopefully, I just got the bad one in the batch) but as it stands, it gets a failing grade :( I will update my review after I get it back from it's repairs

Rated 1 out of 5 by from cordless is not for hammer drill Bought one to drill some 1/4 In holes on the concrete floor in my basement, put on a brand new Bosch drill bit and 1.5 Ah red lithium battery, it just does't have the power to drill it, it feel like a normal drill with a little bit vibration instead a hammer drill, it keep turning but doesn't do anything. 3 minutes later the fully charged battery is dead, the battery is new and it works great on the impact driver. The drill bit is so hot you can smell the burn, so I returned it the next day and got a Bosch rotary hammer 11239VS and another drill bit because the first bit will not fit. By the time I pull the trigger, wow!!! it took me 5 second to drill one hole. So if you want do the job, get the real tool, there is no way that 18 volt battery driven tool will match this 7.5 A bull dog, it cost me $250 for the money, more than this Milwaukee cordless but it well worth it, for a normal drill a cordless is ok but for hammer drill it just doesn't have the power and juice you need, go get the right tool !

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Warantee is terrible I purchased this drill in a cambo with an impact. The impact works great, the drill is a different story. When I first got it the light on the drill was on constantly. I sent it in and they repaired it at no charge. Later I was drilling 3" holes for plumbing and after 4 holes it started to burn up, so I stoped useing it and let it cool down. When I went to use it again it had lost all power an instantly overheated. I thought no problem it's covered under this amazing Milwaukee warantee. I sent it to Milwaukee and after two weeks they called me and told me it's not covered due to "excessive load." They wanted $94.00 to repair it, a new one is only $119.00. I find it strange that Milwaukee brags about how much more torque and power this drill has over other brands and yet I'm stuck with a burned up drill. I have a Dewalt and a Ridgid that I've put through the same use and they still work just fine, I've had them for years. This is the last Milwaukee product I'll ever buy.
